Mool Manter describes your own Highest Truth Consciousness

SatNaam Ji
Dandauth Bandhna ji

QN: Someone told me to do mool manter, but you guys do "Satnaam Satnaam"?

In the Alcoholic Anonymous Big Book, they say the first thing an alcoholic has to do to recover is to accept that by his own power he has not been able to get free of his addiction.  So he needs to accept their is a higher power who can free him through spiritual expereince.  But alot of people have issues with calling the higher power God, because the priests have put them off religion.   So in the AA book they say you can think of the Higher Power as a bunch f higher qualities that you aspire to, eg kindess, compassion, love, equality.    This is exactly what Guru Nanak Dev Ji has done by giving us Mool Manter.  Dhan Guru Nanak Dev ji refocused people's attention to their own highest Truth Consciousness - the description of their own soul as being God.  Rather than what the priests were preching at that time about stone idols, or holy rocks, or lesser gods and supernatural beings (devi-devtas).  Baba ji also said we are on a journey through consciousness.  We start in lower consciousness (5 thieves, desires, etc), we do truthful deeds and move up into good consciousness, but when we merge into our own soul - we become Truth Conscious.  And that Jesus Guru Nanak, Mohammed and others were all Truth Conscious Beings.

So Mool Manter is a good place to start doing simran (Dassan Dass ji advised us to get our kids to do this every day), it describes Truth Consciousness, its describes your own immacualte soul, it is a description of Truth Consciousness (SATNAAM) that we aspire to -

Ik onkar satnaam - One God whose name is "Truth",
the Creator being, fearless, without hate, unborn, undying, self-created,
realised by the Gurus Eternal Blessings.

When you do Mool Manter you stop focusing on your own lower consciousness thoughts and instead are reminding yourself of your own soul's identifty - that you too are also from the one God,  your soul is the Truth (it  is permanent), it is the creative force within you (keeps you breathing, reproducing, heart pumping),
you are fearless and hate free (i.e. full of love for one and all), it never is born nor does it die and you self-realise with the Gurus Eternal Blessings.

Start with mool manter but then come onto Satnaam Satnaam, but its for the Guru to give you the Naam and the blessings and the instructions.  Otherwise theres millions of people out there all ready to tell you something or the other about what to do - but ask them , have they realised the Truth? If not, why are they advising anyone else when they havent finished their own journey yet - blind leading the blind.

Here is an eternally Blessed article by Dassan Dass ji about Mool Manter:

Cleaning Up

SatNaam Ji,
Dandauth Bandhna,

just sharing - may help others:

QN: ...am feeling lots of guilt and fear and sleepless nights due to seeing all the past bad deeds I have committed...

REPLY:

you are going through a very important stage which Dassan Dass ji calls cleaning up your past.  It can take days, months or even years depending on how much stuff there is and how deep seated it is.

We sent an article recently which may help you - http://hslakhan.blogspot.com/2010/04/have-you-swallowed-and-digested-some.html  .  There's a link on there to Dassan Dass ji's article, as well as to the Big Book from alcoholics Anonymous - which also give people a way to deal with their past issues, which is very similar to what Dassan Dass/Baba ji say as well.

It is very simple ji, we are a pure soul, but we absorbed ourself in the thick scum of maya due to our bad thoughts, bad deeds and negative emotions like guilt, fear, jealousy, slander and so on.  We have spent the whole of this lifetime so far blackening ourself in this way, not to count how many lifetimes in the past we have done the same.  But most people are not bothered by it, they never look within, too busy rushing aroundin maya chasing their desires.  So if you are able to look within, then as painful as it is, it is actually the Grace of God-Guru upon you that allows you to do this.  To really be honest with yourself as to what you are, what you have done and what you then need to do to clean up.

Baba ji says we have to become naked on this path.  That means we have to be the same on the inside as on the outside.  That we can no longer hide anything under the dark cover of ego, we must confess it.  We must admit our mistakes, we must confess it to God-Guru, or even better confess it in the sangat (as you will see that people send confessions on the satnaam group ).   This is really humbling, to admit in front of everyone all of our misdeeds.  No one judges us.  But our ego gets deflated, it stops trying to look good on the outside whilst we know what we really are on the inside.   And anyway, who are we fooling by keeping secrets?  They only burden us as you are currently feeling.  Our past misdeeds only weigh us down and dont let us go forward.  Ego doesnt want us to tell anyone or confess it, so we are trapped.    So Baba ji has given us the beautiful way out, to confess our misdeeds to God and then even better, to completely deflate ego, confess in the sangat.

By confessing we release the weight.  God knows our innermost secrets anyway, but HE DOESNT INTERFERE.  But when we confess it, apologise and try and to make ammends (say sorry to the ones we have hurt, touch their feet, reapy them etc) then we can move on.  When we ask for forgivness we are forgiven right away, God is happy that we have finally realised HE IS SITTING WITHIN US ALL THE TIME and we have stopped fooling around, pretending he wasnt there.

After accepting we have done wrong, confessing it, askinginf for forgiveness and trying to make ammends as best as we can, we then need to sit and do satnaam simran - to now focus on God-Guru ji's beautiful feet, to focus on the lovelight of our own soul, to become a flower in the sunshine of our mind.   By doing so we take our mind off the misdeeds (where your mind is currently stuck) and we start remembering (simran) our true identity - our soul - God within us.

e man tu jyot saroop ha apanaaa mool pehchaan
o my mind you are the essence of light, recognise your source...guru amar das ji.

And each time you remember Gods Name, Satnaam, countless millions of sins/misdeeds/bad thoughts are wiped clean.   The Naam the Guru gives us is that powerful that i transformed Sajjan tug the murderer into a Sant.

balharee gur apanaay deoharee sad var
jin manas te devtay keeo karat na lagee var
i am a sacrifice to my guru, a hundred times a day
for he transforms humans into angels in no time at all....guru nanak dev ji.

And the Gurbani tells us to go into the sangat of the Guru and sing Gods praises
sant janaa mil har jas gaaio
kot janam ke dukh gavaaio
...meet the Sant and sing God's praises
countless lifetimes suffering is erased.

We are all sinners, we have all fallen from Grace that is why we are sitting in maya, in the darkness of our mind and sins/mistakes.
But the Guru is kind and shows us how to clean up

Waho waho sachay ma teree tek
hau papee tu nirmal ek
wondrous wondrous True One, I seek your shelter
for I am a sinner
and you are the Perfect One....Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Baba ji said to us, to everyday confess our sins, start by saying "I am a sinner because ...."

And Dassan Dass ji asked us to keep doing this ardas all day long, every five minutes

"I am full of anger, greed, lust, attachment, greed , pride and desires,
please forgive me."

When we are forgiven by God we are given a clean state , lke everyday the sun comes out and holds no grudges against us
for what we did the day before.  Every morning we wake up, put our yesterdays behind us, and try to be a beautiful flower in the sunshine.  Everyday we get another chance of being alive and doing truthful deeds and remembering the naam of Truth - SatNaam.

God doesnt hold grudes against us, only our own mind wants to keep punishing us for its past mistakes.  God-Guru forgives, but our mind thinks we need to be suffering , to be in pain of fear and guilt, to show we are repenting.  That's a trick of the mind.  Once you are forgiven, let it go, accept everything that happened in the past had to happen that way - was the HUKAM.  Mistakes were made, we are sorry, we learn from them, we wont make those mistakes again, we move on  - but we DONT HOLD ONTO FEAR AND GUILT AND SELF SUFFERING as that is the road to destruction.   Its only negative ego that makes you thnik you need to suffer for longer, its only positvie ego that previously made you think whatever you did was justified and you were right.  Both ways you are under the control of ego.  Confessing makes us humble, that deflates the ego.

There is however always some karma to repay as we have generated so much, so that is why everyday we need to be doing at least 2.5hrs of simran (build up to it) and lots of truthful deeds.   We need to be doing ardas for forgiveness every day and having an inner shower inthe divine sunshine to clean up.  Otherwise the karmic filth just keeps on accumulating.  And depending on how bad our past karma is dpends on what we get now - mental sickness, physical sickness, emotional turmoil, family problems, financial issues and so on , is all due to past karma, which all has to be repaid.  But with the Eternal Blessings of Naam, with the kindness of Satguru our karma is reduced, our mindis freed and we even see our dukh (suffering) as suck (peace) beacuase in our dukh we remember God as ego deflates.

So its all good, its all a process of spiritual cleansing you are going through, god is not punishing you, your own negative ego is punishing you - you are doing it to yourself.  You can free yoursefl by forgiving yourself as well and giving yourself permission to let go of the past misdeeds you did.

Hope that anwers your questiosn, keep emailing us, if you want to release your past deeds and confess , you are more than welcome to send us private email or even better send to the sangat satnaam group, it will help you to be free.  We can help you work through it, hold your hand and pray for you, just as Baba ji has done for us.

struggling with amrtivela simran

Just sharing - may help others.

===
Satnaam ji,

Dandauth Bandhna ji

please forgive us, we dont know anything, except we can relate to your questions about finding a comfortable posture,
about feeling tired and sleepy, about wanting to use other Names for simran and so on.   All we can say ji is that
we have learned that even in your failed attempts you are still being taught.  You are learning HOW NOT TO DO SIMRAN.
God keeps the curtain of ego closed until we are ready and we are worthy - PURE only comes to PURE.  Baba ji said that
Nanak only came to Nand Singh when Nand Singh became as pure as Nanak.  And also Baba ji wrote just reciting "SatNaam"
is not enough, we HAVE TO serve SatNAAM KartaPurakh in the Creation all day and night.   Also ask yourself why you are
trying so hard to have spiritual expereinces?   We had to ask ourself this as well when we couldnt get through the curtain of ego?

Please reply why are you trying to have spiritual experiences?  Why is your experience of real life not enough?

Baba ji told us to forget about trying to see God in other realms, because it was more important to conquor my five thieves in the 24 hours of the day.  Most important was to conquor ego.  Because in his sangat many saw all the realms of God and even God himself, but when the tests came they failed, because they hadn't conquored their ego.

Baba ji told us he says to God "why do I need to go to other realms to see you, when you are all-pervading al around me , in every heart?"

Are you trying for spiritual expereinces to justify your spiritual path?  Like we work and expect to get paid or a promotion?
Are you failing to see god in every heart you meet each day?
Are you fighting with 5 thieves during the day?  Confessing them and asking for forgivness and really finding how deeply rooted your daily actions are in maya?
Are you suffering from "seva thoree mangan bohtha - little seva but asking lots?"

Have you every fallen in love?  Been in love?
Baba ji is in love with God.
How would you remember the name of your lover when you are in love?
What would surrender for the love of your beloved?
Would money, job, family, car, house etc etc matter if you were in such a love?

Have alook inside, how much have you given up worldy wants and attachments?

Guru Arjun Dev ji sacrificed EVERYTHING, how does it it make you feel just to imagine sacrificing everything.

Look within, how much have you given up?

How much have you fallen in love?

Or is doing simran just an escape from reality of your daily existance?

We have had to face all these questions ourself as well.

God bless you .

I am feeling negative

QN: I am feeling negative, not motivated by the charity projects I used to love and didn't feel much from
attending the sangat - was an anti-climax.  Plus the image of in my meditation is bewildering me -
is it a trick of the mind or real, or what does it mean.

REPLY:

Its difficult - dealing with the mind is the most difficult. Everyone wants peace of mind, but not everyone wants to pay
the price.   What's the price, surrendering our wants and just doing what God wants.  It's as simple (and as hard) as that.

Its a journey.  See your mind as wild horse which has been running all over the place for all of our life.  Now you
are perhaps not liking where it has lead to, hence are becoming aware of its wild nature (negative thoughts, false hopes,
sadness, sorrow, even exictement of chasing desires, living the dream etc).     That's a start, a great start, to
be able to look within and put into words how you really feel - negative , bewildered etc.

Noticing/observing what your mind is doing is a great first step, doing that and not reacting by not putting a judgement on it is the first step in trying to break the wild horse in.

Forget about the vision you had in meditation.  Its all just tricks of the mind, it maybe true, it may not, either way it doesnt help
you get to peace of mind as you have said it is bewildering you.  Better to say to the mind, yes that's a very nice image, thankyou, I let it go, and come back to remembering God's name in your mind.    Mind plays all kinds of tricks, all you ahve to learn is to bring it bak to its centre, back to peace.

Always listen to your feelings, we used to run around alot doing things for Gurdwara etc.  But in the end its just a story for you to meet people and have interactions and repay/receive what karma you have with them. When the karam finishes then your motivation for those things finish as well.  Maybe its time to move on for you, let others carry on, but you personally have done enough of that seva, need to move onto breaking in the wild horse now?   Dassan Dass ji always tells us that we now need to do SatNaam Simran, that is the highest Seva  - seva of God Himself.  But still do good deeds, have an atitude of giving in everything you do - wether at work, home, friends, family circles etc.

Even coming into simran or sangat, dont come with expectation, then there is no anti-climax.  Come only with an atittude of a beggar and a a giver, come and serve, come and share some food, come and dust the shoes, come with no expectation, sit at Gods feet and if HE gives you something, then Thankyou, and if HE doesnt, then thankyou as HE knows we were not ready for it yet.  But either way we are ahhpy with what HE wants for us, not demanding what I WANT.   Then the mind stays in peace, when the mind is pure, then PURE can come to it.

So its a process, it takes time to change habits and our maya way of thinking, to change our maya lifestyle and come into a spiritual lifestyle.  So keep doing ardas like a beggar at God's door,

jachak jan mangay ek daan
kar kirpa devo har naam
...this beggar begs for one gift
be merciful and give us your Naam.
..full shabad is here, its got everything in it.  Personally I do this ardas everyday, its got everything in it.
Remember that God keep Bhagti in His own hand and gives it to whoever HE wants to.
So if we feel we are drifting far from HIM, then we can only beg Him to give us this gift and not to forget about us.
So that is why its so important to start doing ardas for the gift of naam, seva and bhagti.

Also, we have put a meditation course online, you can download it and go through it in a nice quite space.  We
ran it for people at our home a couple of years ago and its very peaceful.  There are some talks before and after the
meditation, as well if you want.  Once you learn to relax , you will find it easier to progress into doing Simran and
start enjoying coming to Sangat as well and to ask for blessings from Dassan Dass ji.

Let us know how it goes, and God bless you on the next chapter of your spiritual life.

Feel free to ask/share anything else.

the Guru's Lotus Feet are the sanctuary for the hurt, the weak, the oppressed

QN: please help me i am generally quite an insecure person i always worry and think im not good enough.

REPLY:

Sat Naam Ji,
Dandauth Bandhna,

the Guru's Lotus Feet are the sanctuary for the hurt, the weak, the oppressed, the fearful and all the down and outs
in the whole universe.  Guru Nanak Dev ji wrote that where the poor and needy are looked after God's mercy rains down.
The bhagats in gurbani, they were coming from a very low place in society - low caste or doing menial jobs, like
cleaning, or cobbler or barber or butcher, or simple farmer like Dhanna ji.  They all had one thing in common they were dukhi -
they were suffering, they were poor , they were hungry , they were oppressed, they were laughed at and even people
beat them and tried to kill them.    But they found their own relgious paths were dead ends, that the preachers
were not treating them fairly, that those rituals and beliefs didnt lead anywhere.  Like Kabir Ji was walking on the way
to Mecca for pilgrimage, and God spoke to him "who told you I am there?  I am in your heart."

So because they were coming from a position of Dukh (pain) they had no ego, and they prayed to God with a true heart.
And God came to them in the form of the nearest heart that was enlightened - meaning the one within whom God was fully manifested - the pargatio-jyot.
And that enlightened heart, the sant hirdha, was the Guru who gave them the Naam,
the Eternal Blessings (gurParsaad), the key to their inner kingdom of internal peace love and Truth.

If you read their verses, they are telling us their life story.  They are saying we were in pain, we prayed seriously, God came to us in the form of His Sant.  We were blessed with the Naam, we gave everything at the feet of that Sant-Guru who saved us,
they feel in love with the Sant-Guru ji's lotus feet.   Their fears, hatred, worries, jealousies and all the negative qualities left them,
their heart bloomed, they went into the Divine Light - and that is what made them stable - peace of mind, fearless, secure.

So in Gurbani we are so lucky they have left us their story.  but it is not just for reading and reading, it is to inpsire us to go and do  the same.  To pray seriously to god for the blessings of Naam from our Guru.  Then to follow the path our Guru gives us. The path of humbleness and service and to realise theInfinite Divine Power that resides within us as well.

He is the kindest,
he speaks good english.  You will feel peaceful and calm by the end of the conversation.  Each of his words are chraged with divinity/amrit.  You wont realise but he will be lifiting your spirits with divine light and washing millions of your bad thoughts and deeds.  all you will know is you feel light and happy at the end.  why, because in the aura (chattar) of a Sant , Maya cannot come and hence the five thieves being disabled, so we feel the peace of our own soul.

Its only your own five thieves that make you insecure and lacking in confidence.  But because of your great good destiny, God is coming to you know.  Just be humble, just offer you dandauth bandhna at His holy feet, just say what you say to us, that you are a bad person, you have done many bad deeds and are full of five thieves ,that you are insecure and full of fear, that you accept all your misdeeds and ask forforgiveness.  And ask for the gurParsaad of Naam, Seva and Bandagi (divine slavery - to became a slave of God).

God knows everything about us, everything we know about our past deeds god also knows as he is within us.  But god does not
call us terrible or hate us for it.  God just lets us reap what we have sown and sits quietly in the background, waiting for us to stop hiding our misdeeds , to confess them to Him and to admit the truth of what we really are.  He forgives us right away and we move on.  When we speak to Sant-Guru , like Baba ji, we are speaking direct to God in his heart, and god is speaking direct to us through Baba ji's heart.  And whatever Baba ji says to you WILL happen for you, his each and every word re-writes your destiny, puts right whatever wrongs you have done.

That is why we are forever a sacrifice to our Sant-Guru, to every Sant in the whole world for serving God.

God bless You with strength and courage.

First time we met baba ji we were also very nervous, we had everyone in our family against it, but we followed our heart
and am glad I did.  We said to baba ji we are not a brave person , scared of others, Baba ji gave us the blessing that our heart will
bloom on our face.  And now we are not scared of those things anymore - family, religious fanatics .

So god bless you and let us know how you feel afterwards.  Just do ardas before calling and call!!

Dust of your feet
Harjit

PS to anyone in the sangat, if you want to speak to Baba ji, email us.

what does dandauth mean?

QN:Everone mentons the word "dandout", wat does it mean?

REPLY:
Dandauth means lying flat at the feet of God in others.

In Gurbani Guru ji's say when you meet a holy person greet them by pressing your palms together,
greet them by doing dandauth - that is a great virtuous deed :

kar sadhu anjuli pun vada ha.
kar dandauth pun vada ha....Guru Ram Das ji

When we meet we do dandauth
at each others feet physically.

In fact, when you get up to do simran, do imagine your Guru standing infront of you,
imagine the Sangat infront of you, inamgine God and the whole creation infront of you
and do dandauth.  Just lie on your tummy, press forehead on the floor like on the Gurus feet.
stretch your arms out infront of your head.  Become the lowest , become empty of ego,
and then God can fill you up with His Name of Truth - SatNaam.

Dandauth Bandhna means Dandauth Greeting.  so we greet each other like this on email as sign of humility.
Guru Arjun Dev ji writes, "Prabh ji tu mera praan adharaa, dandauth bandhna anek bar jao baraay"
meaning, "Dear God, you are the support of my life,
I offer you countless dandauth bandhna
I am a sacrifice to You."

So even when you go to the Gurdwara do Dandauth Bandhna infront of Guru Granth Sahib Ji - for that is
the Knowledge of Truth - Puran Sat.  And in your mind bow to god in every heart in the sangat.

Later on, do dandauth bandhna to your family as well.

Go outside in the garden or to a park and do dandauth bandhna on the grass and bow to the whole Creation,
to the lifeforce within the trees, the flowers, the insects, the birds - all living beings.

Become so humble , that even when someone is attacking you, slandering you, arguing with you,
you have enough self control not to react out of anger.  But instead you do your simran "Sat Naam Sat Naam"
and just do dandauth Bandhna at their feet.  By doing so your break the illusion that they are your enemy and recognise the God-part within them.

But bowing to God in others is not the same as being a coward.  We do not bow to criminals or oppressors or egotists who are trying to control us through fear.

Hope this explains it, there are more articles on the website satnaam.info.

Unfulfilled desires and Maya's Test.

SatNaam Dearest Dassan Dass Ji,
Dandauth bandhna ji

after your blessings yesterday we spoke to D Ji in India for nearly an hour.
He confirmed that he was going along with his family's plans to have a fake marriage and get into USA.
That they were always hassling him about what he was going to make of himself in the future.
We asked if he had talked to Baba ji about these plans.  He said he hadn't, that he only asks Baba ji for
naam and to become charandhoor of His feet.

We explained to him he cant blame his family for his own decisions (have to take responsibility for our own actions,
every second is accounted for).  That we understand that deep down he has an unfulffilled desire to emigrate
like he has seen others in the village do.  And that is why when people talk about those schemes he gets caught in their ideas.
The root cause is his own weakness, unfulfilled desire, deep seated.

We explained that we had the same problem when doing bhagti 15 years ago, we went very high very fast like him
because we were innocent and thirsty and just did what our sant at the time told us.  But we always had the
deep down unfulfilled desire for a wife.  And in the end, we stopped listening to our Sant because he broke his word
to us by not replaying a loan, and we used that as an excuse to sto doing bhagti and went after our desire.
But, it has now taken another 15 years and we are still not as spiritually
advanced as we were then.  We had accumulated alot of maya's filth and lost all of our peace of mind and enjoyment
of simran and seva.  We even remember we chased after making a business, a bigger house and got frustrated and thought we had
wasted our time doing bhagti for all those years as e should have just been making money like everyone else.
And when going to the gurdwara could no longer even sit in sangat and close our eyes for 5 five minutes.  When in the
past we could sit for hours and hours - all night in rehnsbhaee kirtan as well.  We only woke up when our cousin
died in young age and we realised we have chased falsehood and need to realise death is true and can come at anytime.
We gave up ou rmaya dreams and our hatred to others,
then we prayed seriously for a Guru to guide us again and the very next day Dassan Dass ji email came. And you told
us that this time it would take longer to achieve our spiritual goals.

So he needed to understand that he has collected alot of bhagti and can very quickly get what he wants.
But not to fool himself that it is his family's desire and he is "serving" them by going along with their plans.
Their plans are based on lies - fake marriage.  And he has been given the divine wisdom to weigh up what he chooses to do.
Why did he choose the path of Truth, if he still wanted to get his desires fulfilled by untrue means?
We said , this  his test, for him to chose if he is going to go after maya or stick to Truth, even if it means
facing the wrath of his family.

We explained to him that whatever he is dreaming about going to America is false.  He is dreaming of a great
life, of good times.  He said, "yes, I was thinking I will get there and then go to baba ji and stay with him and do his seva."
We said, firstly Baba ji has not asked you to do that.  Baba ji has only ever asked us to do seva on our doorstep,
to accept the place god has put us in right now, and serve the ones around us right here and now.  And for him that
meant to be happy as a farmer in a village and that he is serving others around him and serving nature around him as well.

We passed on your message that he would be better to stick to his trade of agriculture rather than struggling in USA.
We also said to him that he is dreaming that his uncle is arranging for his family to get over there and will give him a job.
but the reality is that his uncle will only use him for his benefit and his mind will become disturbed as a result.
We passed on the message that his uncle will only exploit him.

We also passed on your message that he could easily get caught by immigration for his fake way of getting their, then
he will be sent back and lose all the money he has given to the middle-man, his uncle.

We also passed on your message that by doing untruthful deeds his bandagi would not go with him.

He started crying on the phone on realising his mistakes.

We said that this was his test, that I failed when I had the test 15 years ago because i didn't know any better as I had no Guru.
but in the end, we could only share our expereince and the guru's wisdom with him, but he would have to fight
the battle within.  That he needed to keep his Guru's words in first place, Sangat in second place and family and everyone else
in third place, as you explained to us in the very beginning.

We gave him the example of our sister , who with Baba ji's blessings followed her destiny and married outside of our parents wishes.
Which then made her an outcaste for over a year with our parents and others.  But Baba ji had told her they will come back into compassion.
And now they have all accepted her and realised that their own hate and anger lead to bad health and bad state of mind.

So we said, ask yourself what is the point of making a Guru , taking the Naam and then not listening to him , and not praying to Him to beat your desires?
But instead, to keep saying nice things to the Guru, but go after false deeds to keep the family happy and to fulfill your desires?

We also gave the example of when we almost migrated to Canada 3 years ago.  It was our dream and we had everything in place - got
redundancy payout from work, got our papers made, had gained new skills in meditation teaching and thought we would make a meditation centre.
But we called baba ji for a blessing and baba ji just said to us that it is better we stick to our technical job 5 days a week and do seva at the weekends.
Our heart sank, we could have overruled baba ji in our mind and said, "no we know best, we are going."  But, we remembered our mistake 15 years ago when we followed our desires which meant we lost all of our bhagti.  So we said to Baba ji our true problem was we are not motivated by our job, we hate it, and we prayed if He wants us to do it
then to please give us motivation.  following which we found our books really interesting, we got offered two jobs and am working 10 minutes from home
with apy increase and fantastic people.  We can never thank Baba ji enough.  We also had a dream at that time and Maya's servant took us to Maya.
she showed us that she had arranged everything for us for our new dream life.  We smiled at her and said , "No thanks." turned our back and walked away.
That desire was deep seated within us for 5 years or more.  And only with Baba ji's kirpa we we able to walk away.

So we said to D have faith in Dassan Dass ji's words.  But the battle is his to fight within his own mind.

We said pray to Baba ji and tell him your real problem - your unfulfilled desire which torments you.  Dont hide it from your Guru and then
turn to Maya to fulfill it.  Face it, beat it and move forwards.  Pray to God-Guru Ji, "You gave me birth in a village, if I die in these fields that is fine with me.
Just keep me in your Naam, Seva and Bandagi."

We also explained to him what Baba ji told us about wants and karma.  Baba ji said we only reap what we have sown.  But people keep wanting
more than they are destined to get at this time.  If they keep sowing towards the things they want, they will get it eventually, maybe later in this life,
maybe many lives in the future.  But people are impatient, they want it now, they may try many religious prayers and readings and go to worldy sants,
if they dont get it they get upset and lose their faith. Or they turn to false deeds to get it.   But they dont realise they will get it only at the right time
when its stined for them.   So we said to D, if he really wants to emigrate, to have faith and let God take care of it for him at the right time.  however, we said
whislt he still has unfullfilled wants, to get it fullfilled will mean many more reincarnations.  Does he want that?  Isn't it better to give it up and to jsut go for God in this lifetime?
to stick to the path of Truth he has chosen, otherwise why did he not stay like the other guys and follow his desires?

May satGuru Ji bless us all to defeat our desires, our false dreams, our illusions, and to accept wherever God has placed us and to do seva in humbleness.

Dust of your feet
