This is because of your destiny and due to the effect of your previous karma in this life and all previous lives you have five demons (panj doots).

Satnaam ji, the reason they are part of our destiny, is because we have to reap what we have sown in the past.
They run our mind, we are their slaves, but most people dont know it. someone slaps you, you get angry and slap them back.
Eg It was from the past that the other person was to slap you (maybe you did something bad to them before). So now in this life you meet again, but this time they slap you.
So without a guru, we will slap them back, maybe even break their neck, or burn their house down. So we sow more and more bad deeds, and we are going to reap more bad destiny in future.

Ohhhh Satnaam Okay so it's sort of like a never ending circle it keeps on repeating itself
Gur Preeto : yes, exactly.
So people who are on a downward spiral, keep doing more bad deeds, finally they may even meet a guru, but they will end up turning against him, and then that is the worst bad deed - slandering. Then their soul goes into real bad puishment in next lives ----hell etc. finally, their soul is destroyed by God.
But opposite is true as well. If we meet a Guru, get higher wisdom of how we are slaves of five thieves, then when we get slapped, gurbani says kiss their feet.
They sow bad, will get more bad. We sow good, will get more good. So we stop doing bad deeds, start accumulating good deeds.
Then one day God inside our heart hears our prayers and say "hey this person is really trying hard and is praying from the heart, its time to bless them."

Then we meet God in the heart of a divine soul. And God in them is like the shining sun, manifested. Wherease God inside us is like the sun hidden behind the dark clouds of our mind and karma.
Then the God in the divine soul, blesses us, that is called GurParsaad - Gods Eternal Blessings, or Gods Grace. So in Texas, God in Baba ji blessed you, your inner door opened and you expereince the God that was hidden in you all the time.
So the five demons have a job from God to keep everyone paying for their past deeds, as per law of karma. but only with GurParsaad we can go beyond them and get out of our karma. And then go into the light, and never be born again as there is no more karma.
Also in practical way, there are two parts to us living in the world : survival and spiritual. For the body and mind to survive, we have senses, brain etc and 5 dhoots are part of survival mechanism - ..lust - to make babies, attachment - to look after the baby, pride - to prtoect the family, lobh - to get as much as we can for ourself and family - anger - to fight off theose who threaten us.
But all these things are just part of making the law of karma play out for us. And for most people, the five demons overtake their mind and they become slaves. Eg cant control their lust, cant control their anger. Everyone is actually under the control of the first version demons. Dassan dass ji says they are the real gurus of even religious people. Eg even though you are bowing to the divine scriptures and saying that is your guru, but your deeds are always about chasing money and women, then your gurus are the demons of greed and lust. Only if you do what gurbani says, do Truth, Sat, only then your guru is Sat.
So when we go on a spiritual journey, we need the Gurparsaad, Eternal Blessings , to go beyond these spiritually destructive forces running our mind. It means we have to trust our satguru and satnaam they gave us for our survival, more than we trust our 5 demons. We have to do opposite of what the five demons urge and tempt us to do. Greed wants us to grab more than we need, so we give, give give daswandh (tenth) and help others. Attachments want us to hold on to people and possessions, because we fear losing them much, why? Because we think we will be lonely, so attachment cries when someone close dies. It makes no difference to the person who died, but our attachment demon wails because its thinks I am lonely, who will look after me now, how will I live by myself?
So we have to replace our fear of losing, with trust in Satnaam, that God-Guru never dies, never leaves us.
Gradually we teach our mind, only with the Gurparsaad, to withdraw from living a life controlled by these five false gurus. And we find that Satnaam actually takes care of our survival better than we ever could have under the five demons.
Baba ji maharaj said that the five demons are solid servants of God. Every day and night they test us on the battle ground of our mind and then report back to God in our heart to say how we did.
You will see in your daily life you get tested by anger or lust etc, but if you stay calm , say satnaam, didn't act on the temptations, you defeated them in that moment.
Then as it goes deeper in you, you will see in your dreams, that these five demons come in all kind of shapes and forms to test you, and again if you call on Satnaam from deep down in your heart only they will let you pass. Gurbani says, "O Lord I have entered the wrestling arena, but there are five of them and only one humble me."
Once we had a dream after simran. We always pray after doing simran and going for a nap, "baba ji please show me what I need to work in." We were shown us cycling hard up a steep mountain path, and at the same time where kicking a soccer ball up ahead of us. Everytime it rolled back we took our foot off the bike pedal and kicked it up again. We got so high up the mountain that when we looked back the town and the people were just tiny dots. Then there was this huge wrestler type of person blocking our path, looking pretty serious.
Our ball represents all our spiritual earnings, all our satnaam and good deeds that we are working so hard to collect. He kicked our ball over our head all the way back down the mountain. That's what happens when we indulge in any of the five demons, we lose our hard earned bhagti (devotion), we lose our peace of mind. Gur Preeto: We turned aorund cycled down, struggled all the way back up. Faced him again, the bhagti ball went to his feet again. and before he kicked it we said without any doubts, "you can kick it down as many times as you want, we will keep coming back". Then he smiled and let us pass.
We e have had som many dreams and tests like that, the best is to say SATNAAM without fear or doubts and they let you pass. Once a sister in the sangat said she was trying to go through a door, but the 5 bouncers would let her, she said "satnaam" they moved to the side and said "he's our master as well."
....
So this is the pwoer of Satnaam. but it has to go deep into you so that you autmatically say it in your dreams as well. You first goto be aware of five thieves in your waking life, then in your dreaming life, and also in your visions if you have them in your simran.
After you get past the five demons, you get tested by all kinds of god and goddesses, they offer you money, or education or anything and everything possible a human being could ever want. Baba ji said you just have to keep saying "no thanks, I have got everything, I have got SATNAAM."
If you say yes to anything, then you beling to them.

What if it was a guru or someone else n they offered u something? Do u take it or say no thanks?
Its like god is saying, "hey this person is calling my name, but do they really want me (the giver)? Or do they want my gifts?" so the things we really deep down come to us

If these gods and goddess come to us should we do dandouth to them?

no dont do dandauth because they are coming as competitors of your guru.
and want you to bow to them and worship them and thank them for the gifts they give you. They want to control you like the five demons want to. These are all aspects to of your own ego mind, which wants to stay in control of "my life". So just thank them , and bless them and tell them lets do satnaam.
And from other peoples experiences thats when they get angry and try and force you to worship them.
But they never came to us.
We found they only come to people who have worshipped them in this life or past lives.
After them you get the big one - MAYA.
its like a computer game! but its actually the levels of your own mind you are winning through. Each door you see is to let you through to higher levels of consciousness. So always go through them on the way to your soul, the highest level. Truth consciousness, or nanak consciousness or Christ consciousness. All the true saints reached this level.
All these lesser gods and five demons all work for maya. she is there mother. Dassan dass ji explained that in japji it sad, first god (supreme divine energy) was by himself for countless time, and he established his NAAM - SAT (TRUTH). Then to start the creation he created the opposite energy, MAYA (she/creation), whereas God is (he/creator). from their union , the three more energies to run the unverse came - destruction (shiva), creative (brahma), sustainer (brahma) - they are called their disciples.
Demons part 2
All these energies run the universe, and they run our mind as well. we are part and parcel of the creation too. physical part - mind, body, emotions. but spiritual part, our soul/hirdha, is part of the Creator.

In practical terms, over time you just become calmer, peaceful.
you dont get lustful everytime you see pretty girl, you dont get angry everytime someone calls you something bad.

but you can use them if you need to. so we get married, then its not lust, you make kids. someone is telling falsehood in the name of God, anger/passion arises like tenth guru into battle. but God is the master and these five dhoots, are now your five servants, baba ji says they are your punj pyare ...five beloved ..these are the real punj pyare.. Five beloved ones, five virtues are...

And Maya, we used to see her as either supermodel offering us EVERYTHING we wanted in the world. or sometimes she would be like a MOTHER trying to give us comforts on her lap. or we saw her as a dark witch, mesmorising everyone in our old sangat (they used to party alot and dindt change their lifestyle even though they had naam and sangat).
so gurbani and dassan dass ji says if you see her cut of her nose, cut off her ears, beat her and chop her into pieces until she puts her hands together and bows to you.
then maya lives as the servant of the sant under their feet. so that why when baba ji or dassan dass ji say something to us, like when they gave us the blessing to get a job, then in the unseen world, maya has to go and arrange how the job and money is going to come to us.
Jagmit: So will that stop all test? Or will u still have test but from sat parbrahm Ji?

there is one final ULTIMATE Test.
which most people in baba jis sangat failed
and that is EGO doesnt leave till the very end

and baba ji said, first we go through the gurus feet to the other side
and practically once we meditated alot on dhan baba nanak jis feet and we merged into them in our third eye, light everywher, so much love and blessings

satnaam is your sword.
some people "see" maya and thse other gods , demons etc like you see things in your dreams - reptty real
and they also see they are given weapons from tenth guru ji, a horse, a sword, taught how to ride and battle
but we hardly see, we mostly feel,
so best is if you are saying satnaam, and can hear it inside your mind and heart (even better), then that means God is there with you. Thats why you are hearing his name
its like he is saying "I am satnaam, I am here"
God is formless, nirankar, so even these visions are of shape and form
so its still battling thru the mind which like imagea and sounds
but when there is no mind left, then there is only light like some blessed sangat see --formless.
But even then baba ji said seeing the light isnt enough
you have to become truthful 100% , every cell of your body, every thought, every action has to be saturated in 100% truth day and nioght

So just going back about ego.
baba ji said first we go thru the feet of the Guru
so thats shoe seva, dishes seva, simran on gurus feet (dont have to visually imagine them, just feel your attention is on them, )
once we were meditating alot on dassand ass jis feet in our hirdha, and we were blessed to merge into them
and we just felt like another world opened up
and dassan dass ji and baba ji mahraj were right there ....thats gods court, dargah,
and our hirdha was full of love and satnaam only
thats satguru jis feet, the power of them, thats why gurbani tells us again and again
wash the gurus feet and drink it, become the dust of their feet,
meditate on their feet and so on
so baba ji said thats the first stage "you go to the other side through the feet of the guru"
but then the ultimate ego test comes
and tests just show you how much of the mind is still left you have to conquor
like stretching an elastic band, you push yourself to extreme limits of what your mind can handle, all the way to dargah
and then your mind (ego) wants to pull you right back into old ways
so if we are disciplined and stay lowest and keep going
then baba ji said we enter the abyss

the place where all creation sprouted from
and that place, if you have even one thought IT WILL COME True (manifest ) IN THE WORLD
(where do ridhi sidhi come)
Baba ji said you hae access to all Gods super powers that run the creation.
and at that time baba ji and dassan dass ji have given past sangat SEVA to do
free ghosts and demons from all graveyards in the whole world
and the more seva blessed souls do the more POWER they get from GOD to do the seva. They get more intoxicated on the amrit, their physical body and everything about them transforms, baba ji said your DNA gets rewritten
BUT NOW THE BIG TEST
you came in thru the feet of god as humblest, but now God Guru has given you all the SUPER POWERS OF GOD HIMSELF
..if you even have alittle bit of ego left, it will say "I AM GOD"
meaning "I, EGO Am GOD"
Baba ji said it happened to them as well.
They used to thunder at the sangat in 2000 with all the power of SUPREME GOD - PARBRAHAM PARMESAR. that people would hardly walk into the sangat room, and their chakras would just burst open. That in the last 21 days at the gurdwara seva they did for seven years previous, 21 people got enlightened just coming near them , one a day.
and baba ji said they could answer peoples questions before the person even asked it
they instantly knew everyones past lives, or time of death
anything and everything was at the tip of their tongue
And baba ji said een the thoughts came to them "the BEDIS (Guru Nanak Dev jis lineage) made it to God, the SODHIS (Guru Ram Dass Ji's to tenth Gurus) lineage made it, AND NOW THE GREWALS HAVE ARRIVED!"
baba jis birth name is NARINDER GREWAL!
And Baba ji also thought " I AM GOD"
Butpretty quickly, because Baba ji had practised 7 years of doing lowest seva of sangat at the gurdwara, Baba ji got the inner wisdom,and said to God, "But I was nothing, no one, only by your grace you picked us up and placed us here, God you sit on the throne we are happy to be your servant only"
Tenth guru ji writes similar thing "in hee kee kirpa kay sajay hum ha, nahee moso gareeb krore paray"
meaning "only because of your grace god have i been established, otherwise there are tens of millions of poor souls like me"
So baba ji then he went into the HEART OF GOD
and that where Baba ji resides in the PLACE OF GOD's TRUTH, LOVE AND COMPASSION AND SERVICE TO ALL, AS LOWEST SERVANT OF ALL
SAT RAM DAS - Truth GOD'S SERVANT
And on the other side, SAT PARBRAHAM - is Truth GOD supreme
So even though they are merged, both are SAT - TRUTH
BUT Truth on this side is always servant of his creation in the heart of the divine soul
and Truth on the other side is the SUPREME LORD - KING OF KINGS, MASTER OF ALL
Thats how it works. This really used to confuse us, in gurbani it says guru is servant of God (sat ram das) , but also says guru is god (gurdev satgur parbraham parmesar)
So lots of past sangat have got suprememly blessed they go thru the ffet of God, they get to the head of GOD, but then they stoppped listening to BABA JI and started saying I AM GOD, I am ahead of baba i, I am the SATGURU now
and when you stop listening to your guru, then you fail the test
wether thats at the beginning of your journey or right at then end
thats what DASSAN DASS JI always says TRUST IS BANDAGI
we have to have full trust in the words of our GURU, even if they say day is night, night is day
it may not make sense to us at the time they tell us, but if we trust, then later on we will understand
also you have to remember one more thing
the ultimate ego tests dont happen to everyone, they didnt happen to DASSAN DASS JI
because DASSAN DASS JI never had hidden ego
they saw baba ji as GOD HIMSELF from day one, and never looked up in ego after that
So there was no hard tests for them
and when you guys are young, you too are very soft hearted and innocent and can go very fast
but at the same time , your mind wants to go into MAYA's fun fair and try all the rides (thats how maya would come to us, at a fair ground, take us around the rides, but we wouldnt go on them)
So its not easy, even having this wisdom our deep down desires and wants dont go. its only bu gurparsaad and how seriously we take our daily surrender. then these DESIRES and punj dhoots can get weakend very quickly. like pulling out the roots of the weeds. but if we dont do the daily gardening, sit in simran, then the weeds always grow back stronger
That's why we have taken so long, only last few years we got serious. Then the mind really cooled down, heart opened. But even then we slipped back when we sto doing amritvela and simran goes down, desires go up, maya comes back, five dmeons come back slowly but surely.
so best is if you can get into daily routine and be serious, you will go really fast
its all up to each one of us how serious we want to take it
and how long we want to carry on getting slapped by 5 demons and maya etc before we take it seriously. and how long we want to carry on getting slapped by 5 demons and maya etc before we take it seriously.
From day one when we met baba ji maharaj, we also had the desire to see the light and experience wonder ful spiritual things.
because we thought that measn we have reached god and then we will be happy.
but baba ji just told us , withoutus even saying that to them, "dont go after spiritual expereince, just beat your five thieves in your kamric circle (people around you), especially EGO."
They told us, "so many people have come into our sangat and even seen Gods palaces, and even had marriage/union with God, but when the tests came, their EGO pulled them back and they even slandered their GURU."
So most important is we do the bhagti like baba ji did, seven years in the gurdwara practise being lowest, clean, cook, wipe, wash, dandauth, love god in all, catch your punj dhoot thinking and throw it out.
so baba ji says we dont have to go gurdwara, just treat your home as temple, family as sangat, and practise these virues every day
so doing TRUTH is even higher than all these experiences. Experiences are just showing you where you are on the journey, but at the end there is bly truthful living, serving Truth in all as the lowest, full of divine virtues.
and God just keeps us bringing us closer to him without us even realinsing. So we havent had many expereinces, adn we say thankyou to baba ji for not showing us, because we would have just got SUPER EGO too.
Instead we just love doing seva of sangat and help by shaing divine wisdom , like this!
and over time, desires, five demons, etc cooled down, heart filled up with virtues, and when we do simran nowadays, mostly it just feels like there is so much love in the centre of our chest, hirdha.
You feel loving and kind towards everyone and everything, your mind stays in peace
things work out around you without having to worry or stress
ultimately we have to become stable in truth, so we never fall back, and that is called ATAL AVASTHA - unshakeable state, until then, ego can come back, and pull us right back again like the elastic band
satnaam ji, thats a quick outline of the journey ahead!!!!
but just do santaanm and seva of sangat with love, Guru ji inside you guides you always, if you are going to do somethinh wrong, you will always have the right thought drop into your mind as well.
Then you have to choose to act on the right thought. Then you make it. Guru is always with us, we just have to learn to tune into which thoughts in our mind are coming from the heart/guru (divine), and which ones are coming from shiva (destroyer/negative), brahma (creative/desires/dreams), vishnu (sutainer/neutral/good) sides of the mind.
once we get clarity about where our thoughts are originating from, its easier.

This is just a little glimpse of what we have seen/understood over the years. but God is unlimited, and everyone is different, so there is probably alot more out there. But for sure, if we stay humble, stay lowest, do seva and sangat and simran with a true sincere heart, its not too hard.

Satnaam ji, just to add all the gods and goddesses were also devotees of Satnaam, they got to the head of God. But that's when they didn't have humbleness and said I am God. Then having the powers they started giving people what they wanted, and got people to repeat their name, instead of Satnaam. They called themself supreme god, parbraham. That's why baba ji has put SAT infront of Parbraham. So every one should be clear only Sat is the supreme god. Guru Gobind Singh ji wrote that whoever God sent into the world just got intoxicated on Naam's power and got their own name worshipped instead of the One God named Truth. Every god and godess has a guru mantra assoicated with them that includes their name, not SAT. Eg Shiva followers will remember OM NAMO SHIVA.
So baba nanak ji went to the heart of God, like baba ji too, because they have earned extreme humbleness (nimratha) and extreme poverty (gareebee, attitude that nothing is mine).
That's why in gurbani is says no demi God is anywhere close to what the satguru is. Gur jaysa nahee ko dev.
And only the really blessed ones, who had it predestined get to meet and serve such a satguru.
Jis mastak bhaag so lagaa sev.
Divine souls say, nanak's house, is the house of gareebee.
"Gareebee da ghar."
And also nanak's house is the house of God's praises.
"Siftee da ghar."
And gurbani says that in nanak's house resides only one thing, just God's name.
"Nanak kay ghar KEVAL Naam."
SatNaam, gareebee, siftee - earn them and really earn a place in dhan dhan baba nanak ji's house. Not just by calling our self a sikh or waving the sikh flag and promoting stories of the past gurus. They earned their place in God's house. Have we?
Each time we do a good deed, baba ji said we are laying a golden brick for our house on the other side.
And because baba ji gave us Naam, we are building our places inside our guru's town.
So baba ji maharaj's earnings our so high, and efforts so incredible, that they have not just built their own house but built a whole place in God's realm called sundar nagari, beautiful town, and each brick is of gold, hard earned deed of Truth done by baba ji. Baba ji said, first God destroyed the houses of lesser gods to make way for creating something new. Just as in the world old is destroyed and rebuilt over. Baba ji explained that God also sends a saint to make a path, then another one to keep it going and finally another one to destroy it and start a new more evolved one for the new time and place. For example Jesus didn't know about reincarnation as God needn't reveal that to him at that time. Each later saint goes further than the past ones. Makes it simpler and takes his disciples further. God is infinite, the more we love him the more there is to love.
