Baba nanak ji s three golden principles people say are, naam japo (do naam) , kirt karo (do job) and vand kay shako( share and then partake).
Actually naam japo means do satnaam simran in your hirdha.
Kirt karo means do bandagi. That's the only job baba nanak ji wants us to do in gurbani.
And vand kay shako means share the divine wisdom and put it in practise yourself.

What is a Sikh of the guru? The one who sits at the feet of God in all. A humble servant full of love. A beggar with cupped hands. Singing praises with love. Melted in the love of the Lord. Satnaam ji Dandauth bandhna ji. In a dream dassan dass ji was blessing sangat with divine wisdom. They held up their hand and said "whilst the fingers think they are seperate they are in darkness." We are writing our karma for future. When we do bad deeds, first place that is our bad karma and this bad karma we teaching to our surroundings. This bad karma keep multiplying in town,province, country then in whole world. MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO. We are doing bad deeds and creating bad karma for ourselves and others. If we do good deeds then we can change the world. Never say what i can do alone and why i have to do. If one burning candle lit up 1000's candle so we can. Better we put our share where we are in which town, province or country. Try to do something good for others. What is satguru? Satguru is the one who loves us when we don't even love ourself. The one who believes in us when we have given up. The one who carries us when we have no strength to carry on. The one who hugs us and wipes away our tears when we confess our crimes. The one who forgives us no matter what we have done. Satguru is the one who waits for us life after life even if we turn our back to the light. Satguru is my life, my light and my soul. Satguru is my heart. To have found the Satguru is the greatest blessing since the creation of our soul. Satguru is my love, my life, my heart and soul. All say dhan dhan dhan, blessed blessed blessed is the coming of such a soul by whose grace all are ferried across this terrible mind. The first thing I want you to say every morning when you get up is
Ma hau nahee (I (ego) do not exist. )
Ma kuch nahee (I (ego) am nothing.)
Dataa ma kuch bee na hagaa. (O Giver I am absolutely nothing.)
You are the only One.
You are the only One Father in heaven,
You are the only One God in heaven,
You are the only One Truth in me,
You are the only One in my soul.
Soul is God. How can I say it's mine when I don't know it. My mind is in illusion.
Let us recite the most pure and pious name of God, and also become pure, satnaam satnaam satnaam satnaam. We are gathered together to sing the glory of the holiest of the holiest Father, called the satguru.
There's nothing of me Lord,
There's everything of you.

Satnaam ji,
under ego I thought I am giving to homeless people. Under attachment I thought I need to hold onto my money. Under selfishness I walked past. Under greed I held on to my food for my lunch and shared nothing with the hungry.
Under logic the homeless should work, like I do. If I give to them I encourage them. Under cold heartedness I walk past them and look away like all the other busy commuters. No one else gives why should I?
Under the mind my heart cries "how can you eat without sharing while others starve?" In empathy I remember how it was when I had little and the government benefits helped me. When I was down and out and stuck in a rut. Feeling of failure and under a depressing cloud.
Under grace I forget my mind's logic and remember satguru ji said,"have a giving attitude to all." And "service is on your doorstep."
So now everyday we fill our pocket with snack bars and give to all homeless and hungry we see. We even ask their name. We don't look away. Under grace we realise I (ego) am not the Giver, there is, was and always will be only one giver, whom may I never forget.
"Gura ik deh bujhaee. Sabna jeea ka ik data so ma visar nah jaee."
(Baba Nanak ji).
The One who is giving to us everything everyday, and giving to others through us as well. Logic mind never understood, in ego only saw me and mine, us and them.
Gura ik deh bujhaee.. Only guru gave me this realisation of the One: God is the only giver to all creatures whom may I never forget.
It's not about logic, it's only about heart. Give to others, God gives to us, trust, there is no loss in the guru's house.
