Ik onkar sat Naam

Baba ji said to us when we were down last year "sat sada ha naal.  Jup mun. Kar sat."  

Meaning

"Truth is always with us.  Mind repeat it.  Do Truth."

So do satnaam when you are free.   When you are working, do it truthfully.   When you are with family, do it it lovingly.   Don't let mind sit idle and get into complaints and laziness.   Baba ji said work off your depression, go for walks, stay busy in service,do satnaam. However many days of darkness are written you have to walk through them.  So remember sat is with you always and bear your karma, without making more bad karma by complaining and bad deeds and bad thoughts. That will only saw more dark says of depression.

Meaning of ram, name of God.

Sat Naam

Ram was a satguru of a past age.   Kabir ji said in gurbani that when I say Ram I don't mean the one who was born, I mean the one who is eternal.    So the name Ram  is used in gurbani like we use the word God in english to refer to the higher being.  Because in the times of the ten gurus most people called God as Ram.   

Ram means raamia which means the one who is embedded in all.     Ram is the most commonly used name in gurbani for God.  You can imagine the verses of gurbani were heard by mainly hindu people so they knew Ram meant God.

Each verse of  gurbani was uttered for the sangat infront of the guru at that time.  So there are many different languages in gurbani, although they are all written in the gurmukhi font.   

There are hundreds of different names for God.   Each name describes one of God's qualities.    Gobind means world protector.  Gopal means world cherisher.  Waheguru means wonderful God,  and so on.  These are called praise names, or kirtam Naams.    Because when the devotees where intoxicated in the love of the Lord, they praised his qualities.    So the devotee who saw God absorbed in everything was saying God you are raamia in everything, you are ram ram ram ram ram ram.    

One day kabir ji was doing "ram ram ram..." intoxicated in love and it turned to "kabir kabir kabir... " then he asked the Lord "ram ji I was saying your name and now I am saying my name, why?"   and the Lord replied "ram and kabir are one now.  Ram kabir Ek ha."     

So praise names done with love can also take us into samadhi and intoxication and to God's door.    

The same happened with Sat baba ji. They didn't know what Naam was but heard Gods sweet voice telling them to do Naam "Naam simran kar."   They thought, "I have to go to the gurdwara to do that." They started by just clicking their tongue whilst doing seva.  Over time they started doing "waheguru waheguru"  with love for the Lord and went into samadhi.  Over more time God blessed them and said, "you can start your own group now and give them these five names(panj shabad) of mine to do simran upon."

Baba ji said one of those names was baba jis worldly name too, "narinder".     Just as ram kabir became one. So did waheguru and narinder.    But baba ji was wise,  and had deep thirst to know God fully and no desire to start an organisation and get his own name repeated.    In Hinduism all gods and goddesses have a guru mantra.  And in that mantra they give their followers is their own name.   Eg "om namo shiva"  is done by shiva followers.  

Guru Gobind Singh ji said which ever bhagat God sent into the world had meditated on God (satnaam)  but getting merger with God them got their own name worshipped. Instead of telling followers to worship the name of the one God same as they did (sarnaam).   But the ten guru jis said, "may know one no my name and the name of the one God is Truth, ik onkar sat Naam." Sat is the Naam,  sat Naam.  

Coming back to baba ji they said to God in love, "I have seen my past four lives and I had religious  organisations (dera), this time I only want to know you."  then baba jis bhagti went even deeper and they said "the pebble (baba jis soul) pierced the diamond (God)"   and god said to baba ji, "my original name the one I chose for myself is sat, Truth, five that to the sangat."    

"kirtam Naam jihba teree Katha,
Sat Naam tera pura purbla. "
With the praise names I describe you with my tongue.
But sat Naam, the name sat/Truth, is your original name.

Guru arjun dev ji.

So baba ji has started with praise names,  gone through the whole inner journey, and is authorised by God to give the highest, original name,  Sat.      Even beyond Sat naam,  is pure silence. Baba ji said that satnaam is just to beat your mind, after that mind is replaced by light  and silence.     

So we are all very blessed by Baba jis great earnings to start our journey with Sat naam and not have to go through listening to verses and reciting prayers and praise names and names of lesser God's. It's all dhan baba jis great earnings shared with us. Satnaam satnaam satnaam satnaam.

God doesn't give pain to anyone

God bless all with physical pain and emotipnal suffering.   God bless all with heartache and loss.   God bless all with serious ailments.   God bless all with financial losses and loss of reputation.  God bless all to experience failure,  hunger,  depressions and hopelessness.       Then God bless everyone to fall to their knees to break ego's spine and fall to his feet.   Comforts are a sickness, suffering is the remedy. Whilst there where comforts God wasn't there. Dukh daru sukh rog bhaaya ja sukh tam na hoi.

SAT is the NAAM

Baba ji said SAT/TRUTH is the name of the light, (prabh jot prabh naam), is pure God,   but Naam is just part of the shadow, just describes that SAT is the Naam.  

No one can do simran.  No one can get up early and sit for long hours. No one can  go go into samadhi and merge into  the light unless God himself makes us do his simran.   And if we find someone who has been blessed like that, then fall at their feet so we too may be blessed.

Doing satnaam is serving the sant

When we do satnaam we are serving the sant.   Without serving sants no one normally goes to God (except a few like baba ji and baba nanak who God himself became their sant satguru) .  The sants are the doorways to God's court, dargah.     Gur dwara means God's door.   Baba ji said that Dassan Dass ji is his walking, talking, living breathing Gurdwara.   So when you do satnaam under the blessings of your sant they are letting you enter God's court in your own heart.

Sant kee sang vadbhaagee paaiyaay.
Sant kee seva Naam dhiyaay.
Naam tul avar na hoi.
Nanak gurmukh Naam pavaa Jan koi.

Meeting a sant, only the greatly fortunate do so,
Serve the sant by surrendering to Naam.
Nothings equals the Naam.
Nanak: Only the rare one gets the Naam of the gurmukh (enlightened soul/guru).

Ego wants what it wants. 
Ego is God's competitor.
Ego doesnt give up its demands. 

God is kind to this mind
that is blind
and gives us what we are crying for.  Maybe right away,

But all we gained in maya
we lost of our soul.  
God waits for us
to make Him our only goal.  

And He is so kind

Kids should do simran too

Where are all the kids? Why are they slowing down in their simran?

All the kids should treat this as the first thing of their day to do simran, before they go to school they should do satnaam simran.

Then only they will be successful in their life.

Your priorities - simran, study and sports and seva.

Always remember 4S - simran, study sports and if you can do some seva too that will be great.

This will make your life really a good life. You will never have to face pains and problems if you do so.

So please before you go to school every morning do your simran for some time at least.

Always keep these words of wisdom in your mind and don't indulge yourself in any stupid things.

Many of you don't even log in to kakao sangat for many days, that is not good, that means you are inviting trouble by not doing your simran.

We will be very happy if all the kids do their simran every day and make their life a real good one.

Those who do so will be blessed every day, because only the blessed one's do simran.

So please tell all the kids about these messages.

When you battle with your own mind and own bad habits, ego will blame and complain.    It will tell you are rubbish at bhagti, better to give up.    But just remember it is the battling that is bhagti.    It's when we listen to and believe ego thoughts and give up we lose.   Never give up battling, we have God's grace and humble ardas.

When you battle with your own mortgage nd and own bad habits, ego will blame and complain.    It will tell you are rubbish at bhagti, better to give up.    But just remember it is the battling that is bhagti.    It's when we last stem to ego thoughts and give up we lose.   Never give up battling with God's grace and humble ardas .

Spend more time on your soul than your mind and body

Food and exercise is for the body, books and knowledge are for the mind, but only true deeds and sat Naam simran is going with our soul.     Baba ji told us once when we were training alot, "all that time you spend on your body, but your body is going to stay here (dust to dust).  Put more time into simran (close your eyes, practise going into samadhi).   Baba ji said the whole world is on a health agenda, diets etc,  but even if you eat junk for a month you are not going to die, do simran, he looks after you.

Everyday sit for simran burn all your attachments in the fire.   Mind and body are attached to the soul.   Everything else is attached to your mind and body.   So we want to break free of these entanglements and gurbani says recite "mind and body,  cut cut  throw it all into the fire and burn your ego".. Tunn munn kat kat sabh arapee vich aganee aap jalaai... Guru ram das ji.

Glorify Truth, not Jesus, or ten gurus or Muhammed

Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam glorify Truth, not the ones he sent.  The messengers in gurbani said "may no one know my name."   Baba ji said that God will honour his saints, so the world will celebrate them. But glorify and pray to Truth, not Jesus or nanak or gobind singh or Muhammed.    Otherwise Baba ji said we bring our guru down to the level of demigods who got themselves worshipped.   When Christians say God they are thinking Jesus. When they say Jesus they are meaning God.    When Sikhs say Nanak they too think Nirankar.   But that's not what they told us to do.  Do Truth, glorify Truth, remember Truth. Baba ji said, "I only ever attached people to Truth, Sat, not me."

If all religions focused on Truth is God, Sat Naam, then our God is the same and we are all his children and one family.   But when we say Jesus is God or Nanak is God, then we have different fathers and see each other as seperate, competitors, even worse one religion tries to dominate another thinking it is superior.    So keep Truth as our Highest God, same Truth manifested in his messengers.  Baba ji said, "attach to the teachings not the teacher."  And the more recent the teacher, the more evolved the teachings.  God reveals more with newer teachers.   Eg baba ji said Jesus didn't know about reincarnation, so his followers don't either.  But God revealed it to other teachers.    Newton said, "if I have seen further it's because I have stood on the shoulders of giants (past scientific discoveries)."    Same with baba nanak ji, started off as a hindu and went way beyond.   Same with baba ji started off as a sikh and has gone way beyond. And baba ji says to us he wants us to go even further.   Baba ji said in the world everything evolves, species, businesses, products, but in religion people get stuck in the past.

Just fold your hands and bow your head  with pure heart."

Talk to God, not about God.

Talk to God, why talk to others about God? Know Truth yourself, instead of preaching what you haven't achieved your self.  Sing to God, not for praise from others.   What you look like only matters to others, what matters to God is what you are on the inside.  Whatever you eat in the name of religion  is just for your body, whatever religious books you study is just for your mind,  only doing Satnaam simran,deeds of Truth and heartfelt praises are heard by God.

Encourage kids to do simran

Baba ji said to parents " encourage your kids to to Satnaam simran. Use whatever means you can think of."    Baba  farid jis mother used to leave sweets for him when he did his simran and told him God had left it. Once she forgot, but his love was so much by then,  mum came in late with sweets but sweets were already there.   God himself had done it.

Dassan dass ji said "serve your family like sangat. Have love and kindness for them.  Your positive energy will go to them and they will improve too." (Otherwise negative attitude only spreads negativity in the family and comes back to you.)

"When all is God, no one is a slave to another. Not husband of wife, or wife of husband, or kids of parents. Only be slave of God and love all, serve all become imbued with Truth."

Laziness and comforts are the worst sickness

"When you listen to priests doing kirtan it only pleases your ears (kanni ras), but when you listen to a recording from this sangat it will enter your heart. Because it's your guru speaking. And that guru is the light, parbrahm."   Baba ji.

"All the teachings we give you in these recordings, you have to earn it. Ik onkar sat jyot Niranjan nirankar is a very high supreme state, you have to reach it." Baba ji.

"We are asleep in the day even with eyes open because in ego we don't see God anywhere, ego only see maya.     We are asleep to God when we go to sleep as well .   When we do Naam we are awake.   So when sleep comes tell it to go away.   Body and mind want to be lazy, to do nothing but stay asleep. Then it wants comforts,  sukh.    Laziness and wanting comforts are the greatest sicknesses.   You are looking for heaven when you lazy and looking for comforts. Heaven is worse than HELL. because of laziness and comforts you forgot God.  (at least in hell, you are in pain and will remember God. Dukh daru Sukh rog, ja sukh tam na hoi. ) " Baba ji.

"keep your body busy in service. Love all serve all want nothing in return. Become nothing then you become imbued in truth."
