Ego wants to be king.
Ego wants what it wants. 
Ego is God's competitor.
Ego doesnt give up its demands. 

God is kind to this mind
that is blind
and gives us what we are crying for.  Maybe right away,
maybe in a few lifetimes more.   

But all we gained in maya
we lost of our soul.  
God waits for us
to make Him our only goal.  

And He is so kind
to this mind that is blind, 
that as soon as we say we are sorry,
He takes us by our hand, 
and takes us along on His plan.   

As long as we stay as
a simple servant
of the Lord above,
He fills our heart with
Compassion, Truth and love.  

But watch out for the devil ego,
it looks for a chance to rise up again. 
So never forget satnaam
for even a moment my friend.  

The minute you do,
maya will get you, 
and the humble will tumble
to hell again. 

What does it cost us
to give up our demands? 
Ego fools us telling us
our life is in our hands. 

Then we cry and waste
the rest of our days. 
When we could have
just been free
of this maya mind maze.  

What does it cost us to say,
"I only live for you Lord.
Your will be done, not mine,
only your word,my Lord divine."

Be free,  release the real me, 
the soul, the real goal,
the light, the might
of the Sat Naam
day and night
in your life.
