Why did God make bhagti (devotion) so hard?

Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam ji

We asked baba ji, "we want to be with God, he wants us to be with him, so why did he make bhagti (devotion)  so hard?" Baba ji said, "bhagti has to be earned."

Eg your dad is a billionaire, you want to be a billionaire.   Does dad just give you all of his hard earned wealth at once?  If he did what would happen to to you?

Rich kids tend to indulge their bad habits, drugs,  sex,  no humbleness, live for ego life and desires.

If your dad gave you a fast car as soon as you passed, could you handle the power? So many kids have killed themself or others like that.

Earning bhagti means we have to really cool down inside,  erase five demons,  desires, live to serve, have extreme gareebee like baba nanak ji,  only then can supreme Lord supreme power remain in us without destroying us.     With great power comes great responsibility.    We have to be absolutely lowest, no ego for Satnaam to remain in us.  That we have to earn.

Dassan dass ji maharaj ji said it takes time for our level of internal purity to increase and for us to be in a place we can absorb more amrit.     Eg you wouldn't put all the power grid through your one small light bulb?   Takes time for us to he ready for the supreme power to fully reside in us.   When we do daily simran, seva, sangat and sacrifice wants, then we are being prepared to receive the light of God.   He will manifest when he knows we are ready. Until then keep earning bhagti.
