But there is always one question in my mind that puts me in confusion and that is other religions don't mediate on naam so does that mean they will not achieve salvation though they lay emphasis on living life honestly.

how can you be so sure that "other religions don't mediate on naam"? Have you studied and followed other religions?
This assumption of yours is false and is what is causing you confusion. They may not call it Naam, but they meditate on Him, just as we do. Its all about GurParsaad - only those who receive His Grace can realise Him. And Bhai Gurdas ji wrote that when the Muslims and Hindus asked which religion pleased God the most, Baba nanak replied , "without good deeds neither pleases Him."
So its all about your deeds, receiving His grace and come under the guidance of the Sant Hirdha that He comes to you as. And a Sant may have started off his spiriotual journey in a boat of relgion, but once they merge with God, thay are the face of God (Gur=god, Mukh=face. Gurmukh=face of God) and beyond religion as God has no religion.
