Sat Naam.    We have been at work this week,  long hours in traveling and out of the house.  Tavleen said to us one evening "dad it's been much calmer in the house without you!"         we said to her,  "we have been much calmer as well listening to our kirtan and doing simran on the train."      Made us realise we think we are helping the kids or wife by telling them "good" things all the time,  but to them we are just constantly nagging or criticising them.     Baba ji said once, just tell them the truth  once that's all. Better to let them grow and learn in their own way,  stay calm ourself do our simran. Trust in God to guide them as he is guiding us.

Honour others, God honours you

Uplift others, put in a good word for them,  talk good about them,   it's easy to say negative things,  better to praise and uplift.     Start with family,  friends,  colleagues. Talk good behind their back, rather than bad.     .... Just watch Christian minister Joel oleen.      Really applies to us.  Don't say or do enough to praise, thank,  or be positive about others.

Sat sat sat bless all.    Don't talk bad about even those who stop us from coming to Sangat.   Still only praise their good points.   It makes the habit in us to be positive.    If we keep seeing negatives in others we make our mind negative.

Don't talk bad about your kids or spouse or colleagues or boss.    Have a good attitude towards everyone. Don't disrepect anyone,  don't even think I am better than others, or I hate this job,  or I would have been better off not getting married or having kids.   We are then disrespecting those people. God gives us honour when we give give honour to others.   In gurbani, many times we ask for God to protect our honour, meree laaj rahee.   That God our dearly beloved is our    honour, maan karo tudh uparay mere preetam pyare.     We seek honour from God,  for God to be proud of us, like a parent loves their child,  like baba ji gives all of us so much praise and love and honour in his divine court.   So we too need to understand we have the same power to honour and cherish and uplift those around us too.

Not just to think good of others,  but to say it as well.  And not to say anything negative.   Dassan dass ji said once that it's not for the guru to point or our weaknesses,  satguru ji only overlooks our sins and uplifts us.   And then it's for us to look inside and point out our own weaknesses and in doing so we overcome them.    So we too have the power to overlook others faults and forgive them and only uplift them.  Say and do good for them.   God sees we are honouring others and in turn we are honoured in God's court with shining faces.

Vich duniya sev kamaayaa, Har dargah baysan paayaa, kahu nanak  bahu laadaaiyaa.... Serve others in the world, you will get a place in God's court (be honoured),  nanak says this with arms outstretched welcoming the Lord.

Sat, the Truth, is the one and only supreme God. (SAT PARBRAHAM)

Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam ji mata ji is requesting for sangat not to say "sat parbraham" infront of their names including baba ji, dassan dass ji and pritam anand ji.  

Baba ji explained to us once, that God on the other side is sat parbraham,  but in this side is servant only, sat ram dass.  Both work together like two wheels on the axel of creation.

Baba ji maharaj explained that parbraham means supreme God in gurbani.  But followers of lesser God's, like shiva,  call them the supreme.   So baba ji reestablished the one and only sat is the supreme God,  so placed SAT infront of PARBRAHAM.      and now when we went to Canada sangat,  again they said they have restestablished that it is the one and only SAT that is ik onkar, (sat ik onkar),  that sat is the light unaffected by maya and formless (sat jyot niranjan nirankar)  , that it is SAT that is the supreme soul light (SAT PARAM JYOT), that it is SAT That is the completely bright (SAT POORAN PARKASH)... And so on,  they have ESTABLISHED SAT as the one and only source of all these divine words.

Practise what you preach

Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam

St Francis of assissi said,  "preach the gospel,  use words only if necessary."

It means that we must Practise what we preach. Even better than that is to just become Truth,  Love and compassion,  just become Satnaam,  and we don't even have to tell anyone to do Satnaam.  People around us like family and friends see we are calm and kind, they also cool down.    We used to preach alot to our family and friends,  but if they have different beliefs they resist and fight  back.  Then it's just frustrating.   Then we just prayed for everyone and worked on changing ourself.  We calmed down,  they also calmed down.    Ghandi said,  "be the change you want to see in the world."

We always tell our kids do your simran, get up early.   Once tavleen said,  "simran is supposed to make you happy but you are grumpy."    we said,  "imagine what we would be like if we didn't do it!"    but the point is our telling them to do simran has no effect if we are not becoming Truth, Love and compassion ourself.  Satnaam.

Re: Honour your promise

Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam ji even if we look at ourself,  we took 8 years after meetings dassan dass ji before we committed to doing amritvela daily for 2.5hrs.   And now we took two years before we looked for a new job after they told us.    Looking back we were the one that suffered in the time we delayed.  So that is what we have learned and wanted to share with everyone.

And the amount of time we delay shows how thick our ego is.    Our ego is what resists following the guru's words.

She never did as she turned her back on her guru.  Soon after she had a fall went into a coma and died.   Tarlochan aunty requested maharaj ji to save her soul.   They did so, but she has to be reborn in order to keep the promise she made infront if Sangat and satguru before she turned her back.    So we must honour the words of the satguru and do it right away.  We must keep our promise and we will be the ones who benefit and god helps.

New Year Resolutions for 2015

1) COMMITMENT TO LONG SESSIONS OF SIMRAN BY ALL OF YOU- Please don't target only for 2.5 hrs. of Simran but commit for much longer Simran sessions. You are all blessed, the problem is commitment from you to serve the hukam. If you commit then there is nothing that will prevent you from doing so. Stop making excuses and go in Simran.
2) SURRENDER WITH TUNN MUNN DHAN at the sat charns of Satguru.
3) DELETE ALL USELESS ACTIVITIES FROM THE DAILY LIFE-
This will free your lot of time for Simran.
4) ALWAYS AND FOREVER PUT YOUR GURU AND SANGAT FIRST- Guru and Sangat nu mukh rakho. Then only you will become a Gurmukh. The true warrior of Truth.
5) EXERCISE ALL DIVINE POWERS PRESENT IN YOU-
These are Trust, Devotion, Love, Humbleness, Kindness, Forgiveness, Fearlessness,
Speaking-Hearing-Servicing & Delivering only Truth.
6) WATCH YOUR DAILY ACTIVITIES-
And make sure you don't fall a Prey to Kaam, Krodh, Lobh, Moh and Ahankaar. And don't use any of these dhoots to fulfil your Desires. And all your daily deeds are Truthful deeds.
7) REACH ROM ROM SIMRAN. Challenge & Beat Maya. Win Maya & Merge in Source. And Become a Gurmukhi a True Warrior of Truth.
