Remind me why we are on this earth for ??

satnaam satguru satshabad satsangat - dandauth bandhana Ji.

QUESTION : Paji, remind me why we are on this earth for ??

It seems in the past few weeks i have forgotten and got enrossed into getting a new job and worrying myself about buying my own place with my husband.....

I need some words of wisdom.

ANSWER:  life's like that - sometimes HE makes us get up and get a house, get a new job, makes us so busy, but even that's GREAT as long as we have HIM always in our heart. And when things calm down again, when you've moved in to the new house, when you've got your job sorted etc, then that STABILITY is for us to be able to do more simran, more seva and more sacrifice. The Satnaam Sun is always shining, but mostly we are lost in the Karma clouds, every now and again a ray of Truth breaks through from our soul to our mind, and we ask for words of Wisdom so we can enjoy the warmth of the Sun in our heart again.

What actually counts as seva (service) ?

satnaam satguru satshabad satsangat.

QN:Veer Ji, what actually counts as seva (service)?

ANSWER: when there's no selfish motive in it, when its for the other's benefit and not for our own name and fame, when we help others, even at work whatever we are getting paid to do is a service to someone. See it as serving God , and there is peace and happiness, but see it as a JOB - I work he & the company pays me then the mind gets upset when you dont get the promotion, or the pay rise. Or it just compaines all the time. See it as a service to God, to your Satguru and expect nothing in return. Then whatever comes back in return i.e. wages or spritual rewards is all a bonus ontop of the peace you had from doing selfless service. Apply the same attitude to your children, to your wife , to your friwends to everything and everyone around you. See a dried up plant - water it - thats seva. See a lonely person, talk to them and make them smile, thats seva. It builds compaasion in your heart, that brings in love. And only in a loving heart can Truth - SAT - reside.

Desparate For God's Vision - Darshan

satnaam sada satnaam ji - I bow to You.
=============================
The following was a reply to someone who was becoming very desparate to have God's Vision, depsarate and physically exhausted.

Dear K Ji,

the more you feel you are fighting the thieves, the more you are getting drained ...which is the oppostie of what you want.
The thieves are what drain us of our inner amrit.  When we fight them in the right way, then we have more Amrit not less.
So if you have less amrit and feel exhausted and desparate it means something is wrong.

You have spent all your life making all your old habits, they are not going to disappear in a few weeks or months of becoming devoted.   You can change everything in your life, give up the old things you did, start new things like going to Guirdwara and praying and serving etc,  but the habits of the mind, the long established thought patterns, do not go away so easily.

This is a path of SEHAJ ..balance.

We have grown up in a culture of fast food, fast cars, fast women ..whatever we want we want it right away.  That is the minds habit.  You thought it was in your control to run your life under 5 dhoots as we al did previously, but now you think its in your control to do X, Y and Z to have darshan of God.

The reason you are drained is because YOUR ego is still running the show.

Even on the spiritual path SUBTLE EGO runs the devotee.

Even DARSHAN is not in yours or my hands.

Giving up your WANTS also include giving up WANTING GOD'S DARSHAN in a moment of asking.

Guru Nanak Ji spent 30 years searching serving and really feelin the pain of humanity before he disappeared in the rive for 3 days and was blessed with Darshan.

All the subsequent Gurus spent many years searching and then many years serving, why?  Because to become purer than pure inside takes along time, just depends on how think our own MAT (worldy wisdom is).  Baba Ji sid that is why Guru Tegh Bahadu Ji sat for over 25 years.   Baba Ji himself did seva at Gurdwara for over 7 years never missing a day, serving with TRUE love in his heart for all humanity, fighting the negative thoughts one by one and becoming purer than pure.

PATIENCE
PATIENCE
PATIENCE
BALANCE
BALANCE
BALANCE

.Even in your body building you can see God in thopse around you, serve God by serving the body.
Even in family life you serve others as your Satguru, love your family deeply, not selfishly,.
Even in work life, serve your Boss as your Satguru, colleague as sangat,

BAba Ji told me its more important to conquor your mind than to have darshan.
HE said many people in the sangat saw Gods realmsa nad palaces, but when the test came their EGO made them slander their Guru.  So Baba Ji says "God why do i need to go to Sach Khand to see you, when you are in everything all around me?"    ITs just another illusion of the mind that having DARSHAN is the target and that our actions we can attain it.
IT IS NOT IN OUR CONTROL.

When your heart is full of love and kindness, then it is that love that makes you do anything.  Not your desparation and your impatience.  Like a mother loves her child, even though sometimes she shouts, gets angry, doesnt show it.  But if the child ran on the road, the mother wouldnt think twice and just run into the road to save the child without thinking of dying herself.
When you try and force your love on God, but deep down your mind is not yet in love with God,  but your ego thinks by doing X, Y and Z I will please God  then it is still INTELLECTUAL, it is not from the heart.

Listen to your inner feeling,  you are not happy, your not in love and you are not living in BALANCE and you can fix it by saying one ardas that baba ji told me "Dear God, I have jumped into the ocean of You, you can drown me or ferry me across its upto you, but I have jumped in."

IT may have taken you lifetimes plus your age in this life to make your mind habits,  it will take a while to clean it up. Keep serving because you WANT to , not because you think its what you are supposed to do.  Keep bowing and doing DANDAUTH because you really feel humble at the feet of God in every person, not because you think it is the right thing to do.   Keep giving, keep living your noraml life, but just change your attitude to things and to people by bringing love into it.
And that takes time.
And the only target is too keep your mind in peace and in truth and love and compassion every moment,
the moment is all we have.

The past has gone, the future doesn teven exist.

So just aim at being happy and peaceful and loving in this moment, that is DARSHAN of GOD right now, when you feel love in your heart.  Keep taking care of the moments,  and when the dross has been removed from the mind, the kundalini energy will arise by itself without you trying and all will be revealed.  But its not in your EGOs hands.

S:

Bro my life is turning into hell.

I say one thing and do another.

I feel like going and get drunk.

To get rid of tension.

I have not touched drugs in more then 1 year.

My health, love, life everything is gone.

I have severe depression.

Feel like dying.

No one can help me.

What shall i do?

My mind has been corrupted by porn.

I have mental disorder no energy for no life.

I feel good and energetic but then i end up masterabuing and feel shit again.

No one can help me i Am so tired i feel like dying but i cant even commit suicide coz he wont let me.

H:

Its a slow process , remember be KIND to your MIND.

Start with apreciating the little things.

Thankyou Satnaam Baba Ji for the air I breathe, You keep giving air to everyone - slanderers and saints.

Thankyou Satnaam SatGuru ji for the sun on my face.

Thankyou Satnaam Satguru ji for each drop of water.

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou,

I am not worthy,

I do not appreciate,

but whatever I am, Satnaam Satguru ji, I am YOURS.

Be kind, Be merciful, take me by the arm Satnaam Satguru ji and pull me out of my deep dark well of scum that I am in.

I am nothing , YOU are everything,

I am a sinner, but YOU are the saver of the sinners.

I am in trouble, but YOU are the one who destroys all Troubles.

Please do not forget about me Satnaam Satguru Ji.

Bless me with Your purest Naam.

You are the strength of the weak, please come and give me Your strength.

S:

Thanks I felt good just by reading this

H :

Keep praying like this.

Keep talking to SatNaam Satguru like this.

In your darkest hour, when you have no Light, when you have only depression and death as your tormentors, REMEMBER THAT ONE and HELL wont touch you.

Satnaam.

Satnaam.

Satnaam.

Satnaam.

Satnaam.

Always and forever,

my beloeved and my Protector

Satnaam Satguru.

Always be with me, in me and around me

S:

I actually feel like crying.

H:

Be the cool wind.

Be the cool water for my hell-fire mind

S:

What you said makes me emotional.

H:

This is how we pray.

This is the real prayer from the depths of our soul which we sometimes ONLY reach when we are in the deepest, darkest place of our mind.

The thirsty soul speaks through the scum of the mind, it makes us emotional, those tears we cry wash away our filth.

Wash the Gurus feet with those tears.

That's where we go to cry.

That's where we go to die.

Ego torments us, we get frustrated, angry at ourselves, cant escape, get suicidal, but learn to die in the true way.

Die at the feet of Satnaam Satguru ji.

Put your head on the Guru's feet and never lookup again in ego.

Die such a death that you never have to die again.

Love such a love that you know Eternal Love.

Satnaam.

Satguru.

Satsangat.

I am nothing YOU are everything.

Thankyou for my breath,

for the water,

for the food,

for this chance in TIME and SPACE in this PLACE to do some good,

to do some simran,

to serve some one,

to live for others,

to become desire free,

to die at your Lotus feet.

This DARK AGE is hot, SAT NAAM is cool.

Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam.

Thankyou for letting me do some service for you S.  Thankyou for letting us pray together in this way. God Bless You always and forever.

S:

Bro I cannot thank u enough. I can only wash your feet.

H:

Lie down now, and relax, just notice your breath, going in and out,  and let all the other thoughts just fly by like clouds in the sky.

Those thoughts are NOT YOU, do not get fooled by them, do not start getting frustrated by them,  dont identify with them, learn to step back and recognise them, and let them fly by like clouds in the sky of the mind.

S:

Yeah.

H:

Once you are back in balance, then also realise that those thought only overwhelm us when we havent been cleaning them out. That's why even 5 min relaxation, breathing, letting go, thanking , saying Satnaam   keeps us free.

S:

Yeah.

H:

So feel better now?

S: Much better. Thank u.

H:

I could feel Satnaam Satguru ji sending you plenty of Amrit during that prayer. Thank Satnaam Satguru Ji.

S:

I feel happy now

H:

That's what Sat-sangat does for us, someone else is overflowing with amrit and  someone else is drowning in sorrow, one helps the other - God does it all, like water flows from high to low

S:

Yeah.

H:

If you like, print out the prayer we did together above, and use it when you need it.

OK?

S:

I Am on mobile but i Am GONNA write it on a piece of paper

H:

Everything else ok?

S:

Yep, thanks

H:

OK then take care, stay in the Light, stay free of those thoughts,  Your Blessed Blessed – Stay in Peace.   Dhan Dhan Sukhee Raho,

dust of your feet, H.

S: You too bye.

sickness is not your destiny

satnaam satguru satsangat - i bow to you.

Most people seem to come to God when they are suffering.  However, there is much we can do to prevent future sickness and bad health.  Karma applies to what we eat as well, our health now is a result of our past eating and excercise habits.  And what we are doing today we will reap tomorrow.

Here is a good article to avoid cancer:

Comment on abortion

satnaam satguru satsangat
dandauth bandhana ji

I saw quite a disturbing program last night about abortions.  They showed actual footage of an abortion,
showed what came out at less than 12 weeks and what came out after that.
Less than 12 weeks its is not recognisable, more than that it is.
To bring it out, they have to use their forceps to break the tiny limbs, crush the skull and spine and suck it out.
It looked like a little massacre on the white sheet.
Over 20 weeks it actually looks like a baby, and they have to induce the mother so she gives birth.

I dont like getting into the judgement game, nor have i really thought about it before.
The basic arguments are the Mothers rights versus the foetus's rights.
Basically the law does not recognise any foetal rights and allows abortions upto 24 weeks in the UK (much longer than any other European country - nowadays 50% of premature babies born at 24 weeks can survive).

At the end of the day,  women who had an abortion could go ahead because Doctors consider it would damage their physcial or mental health to keep it.   But one woman who was shown 3D scans of her unborn baby opted not have an abortion because it looked like real baby.  Another mother who had the abortion said she felt it was the right thing to do, but still said seeing the sight of the baby's legs sticking out haunted her everyday (she went to the toilet mid way thru).  And she wondered what the child would be like now as she watched her other two children playing, she felt one was missing.

Personally, I think what is written below in the Sivananda reading summarises quite well what is the right attitude to life.   In maya we put our rights ahead of others, in bhagti we put our selves at the back of the queue.   So the mother in bhagti would say what is best for the baby, not what is best for me?    Seeing the unborn foetus looking so human, makes the human side in us come out - the side that wants to protect and help and love.  Seeing how an abortion rips up the baby creates the opposite reaction within us.  But we can still justify it with our logic mind "the baby is a product of rape, the baby will be disabled, the baby and mother will be disowned, science says the baby feels no pain etc".   But logic mind is part of maya,  bhagti is from the heart.

Baba Ji said that it is God beating in the womb, the pulse of life.  Later on it becomes an individual.  It is God entering into His creation. And there are countless miscarriages in the animal kingdom and human society every day - so life and death is in God's hands.

But I think, causing cruelty and death to another because we are putting our rights over the baby's is not bhagti.  It is selfish no matter how we justify it.  The story of how the life came into being is just a story - its karma - it was meant to be.  I know Baba Ji helped one young lady who had had an abortion and was no being hounded by nightmares.  He told her it was the unhappy soul who had been aborted.  She was remorseful, baba ji forgave her and blessed unhappy soul to go to the Light to be reborn again.  But he also told her not to be promiscuous, because there are consequences of our actions.  And next time there is no forgiveness, becasue this is not a game that we keep doing serious croimes and then run to our Guru to forgive us and free us of the consequences.

I know this is a very controversial topic, and people have all kinds of experiences in life, so forgive me for any mistakes or offence.

The Boomerang Character of All Action
Any action is bound to react upon one with equal force and effect. If you do some good to another man, you are really helping yourself; because, there is nothing else besides the one all-pervading Self and Power. Your virtuous actions will react upon you with the good effects. They bring you joy and happiness. Your wrong, unjust actions will react upon you with bad, miserable effects. They will bring you sorrow, grief and affliction. Therefore, always live to do good to others. Be kind to all. Never hurt others.

So you feel you haven't got enough money?

Sat Naam
Please accept my head at your feet in service.

We moved house recently, it took ages to get a buyer and then we agreed the price and I was thankful to God that we could move on.  But soon afterwards I kept thinking, "O I should have held  out for a higher price."  On top of which other family members started telling me, "you know the house was worth at least 10K more."   Then we put an offer in for another house and offered 20K less than that asking price.  The seller accepted it. But was I happy?  Well, I was at first until my friend said, "You should have offered 30K less."  Then I started thinking, "I wasn't tough enough, I should have come in low."   Then a few weeks ago I sold the car for less than the asking price, and yes you've guessed it - I was happy at the time, but afterwards the mind started saying "You know you should have held on for another 100."   THIS MIND DOESN'T STOP TORMENTING ME!!!!

Then I remembered what Baba Ji taught me, that everything that has happened in the past was God's Will - the HUKAM.  Meaning it happened exactly how it was meant to happen.   The only way to stop the mind from regretting every decision in the past is to tell it, "The price that was agreed was exactly the price God wanted it to be."    And when the mind says, "But if you add it all up, the 10K you undersold your home for and the 10K you overpaid for the new house, you are 20K worse off. You know Harjit, you could have cut down your mortgage - now you'll be lumbered for a few more years - and all because you're no good at negotiating."   I took Baba Ji's wisdom and told the mind, "Well actually mind, the amount of money I have right now is EXACTLY the right amount.  The amount of money I have right now in my life is exactly the amount I am supposed to have according to the HUKAM. SO MIND - STOP COMPLAINING."
