SS Penji: bhaji we have questions about daswand. should it be the tenth part of our earning or the saving.

SS Penji: also is it all to be given at one place or we can give it for gurdwara construction sewa, friends sewa at home or else?

Preeto: lets understand the meaning behind daswand first

SS Penji: ok ji

Preeto: God has given us everything

Preeto: He is creator of us

Preeto: but he puts a veil over our soul

Preeto: so we dont see Him

Preeto: but think we are the owner of this body and mind

Preeto: we think the earth and its riches and the universe is ours

Preeto: we get lost in me and mine

Preeto: we become so blind to the Truth

Preeto: so in bhagti we have to learn to remove the veil of falsehood

Preeto: and become truthful again

Preeto: so that is why first thing in Japji, Baba Nanak ji asks

Preeto: kiv sachyara hoiaa

Preeto: kiv kooray tutaa paal

Preeto: how do I become truthful?

Preeto: how is the veil of falsehood torn away?

Preeto: So that is what yogis, priests, preachers, siddhs, sages, jains  etc have been trying for lifetimes

Preeto: everyone has been trying lots of ways and means

Preeto: but the bhagats and gurus found there is only one way

Preeto: and that is to give everything back to god

Preeto: EVERYTHING

Preeto: 100%

Preeto: to say nothing is mine

Preeto: everything is yours

Preeto: to stop living for "me" and "mine"

Preeto: to stop accumulating just more and more riches of the Earth

Preeto: to stop trying to make more and more things on the outside

Preeto: the things that drives us to make more and more

Preeto: is "I WANT"

Preeto: I=ego

Preeto: WANT=desire

Preeto: baba nanak says get out of haumai and trishna

Preeto: ego and desire

Preeto: get out of I WANT

Preeto: so baba nanak ji himself was the greatest giver

Preeto: gave langar to the sadhus

Preeto: gave everything to God

Preeto: left the family and walked and walked for 40yrs , 80000Km

Preeto: then Bhai Lehna ji

Preeto: came and also gave 100%

Preeto: gave up his old Hindu worshipping of fire

Preeto: gave up his family and old life

Preeto: just surrendered to the will of His guru

Preeto: dhan baba nanak

Preeto: just as baba nanak ji had surrendered to the will of His SatGuru - Sat Naam

Preeto: and same with all the bhagats

Preeto: that was the way to reach God in those days

Preeto: Naam is called priceless diamond in gurbani

Preeto: given their head to god,

Preeto: given everything to God

Preeto: and most Gurus, even now

Preeto: dont give this priceless diamond easily to anyone

Preeto: mostly in sangats all around the world

Preeto: people go with wants

Preeto: and holy people give them what they want

Preeto: a mantra

Preeto: or a shabad to recite

Preeto: to make their wishes come true

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: one sant said after a lifetime of helping people like that

Preeto: that nobody had come for Naam

SS Penji: hanji but for their wishes.

Preeto: so many Sants who have naam, dont even pass it on

Preeto: because they never found anyone who was willing to give their head, to die, to surrender everything

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: even in sant deras now in india

Preeto: some are true and same thing happens

Preeto: first sant found the Truth

Preeto: following Sants just sit on the seat, but never surrendered 100%

Preeto: just want the power, the respect, fill their belly

Preeto: same in religions all over the world

Preeto: Jesus had the Truth

Preeto: and died for it

Preeto: same with 10 gurus

Preeto: same with Mohammed ji

Preeto: and Buddha

Preeto: all merged into the Truth

Preeto: , but within 100 years of them dying

Preeto: organised religion takes over

Preeto: and what is left is just a shell

Preeto: because NO ONE wants to die whilst alive

Preeto: to surrender everything

Preeto: because "I WANT" doesn't go easily

Preeto: so that is the spirit behind giving of daswand

Preeto: to surrender to the one who has given you the priceless diamond of Naam

SS Penji: bhaji we were thinking to make a budget for daswand after all expenses and savings for our daughter's education. is it an ok thought?

SS Penji: and where should daswand go to?

Preeto: so daswand is just to get people into the idea of giving

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: but it's still just a calculation

Preeto: 10%

Preeto: if people take it literally

Preeto: and make it just into another transaction

Preeto: and inside they still dont surrender everything

Preeto: dont understand the spirit behind the teaching

Preeto: that we were giving daswand to baba ji

Preeto: and many times we stopped and started and finally we had financial difficulties

Preeto: and then had the test inside

Preeto: "do we save, or do we trust guru and give daswand?"

SS Penji: ok bhaji. you give it now regularly, that's what we were thinking about you that you might be saving money for your daughters and you manage the daswand

Preeto: and thankfully we gave it

Preeto: then our wife found out

Preeto: and she got really, REALLY, REALLY angry

Preeto: and had a massive fight with us

SS Penji: oh

SS Penji: was the test

Preeto: she was ready to leave and go back to her family

Preeto: she was shouting and going crazy

Preeto: our kids got scared too

Preeto: we were strong for a while

Preeto: but then got worried too that she would really leave us

Preeto: and then we turned into one of those Indian films "if you leave now then NEVER COME BACK!!""

Preeto: - sounds so dumb now

Preeto: but it was our MOH

SS Penji: hanji bilkul bhaji

Preeto: getting scared

Preeto: MOH always wants to hold onto what it has

SS Penji: so what was the end of this fight. she stayed back

Preeto: and MOH is always full of fear of losing what it has

Preeto: then we realised we are not in a good state of mind- 5 thieves are here

Preeto: so we went for a long walk in the dark in the rains

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: we tried to call baba ji too

Preeto: but failed

Preeto: then we realised this is our test and we have to put what we have learned into practise

Preeto: and we just did ardas and our simran

Preeto: as we walked

SS Penji: ok..

Preeto: and our mind cooled down

Preeto: and we got home and said to our wife

Preeto: if you are so unhappy, then it is fine with us, you can go , take the kids as you want to ,  you are not our prisoner, you are free

Preeto: and we really meant it

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: we didn't get married to make a prisoner

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: so we beat our moh

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: and she just said "where will I go? I  I'm ok with you."

SS Penji: how sweet, is she on this path?

Preeto: no she doesn't like this path

Preeto: but she is 90% better than 10 yrs ago

SS Penji: hanji she might have changed a lot being with you

Preeto: so we always have to stay true to Sat Naam and SatGuru

Preeto: and trust even if we lose our family, lose our money, lose our reputation, we cannot lose Naam and Gurus' feet from our heart

SS Penji: we feel our patience is tested a lot now with our daughter and other activities around

SS Penji: hanji bhaji

Preeto: and just to finish off the story

Preeto: so 2 yrs ago when we went to see baba ji

SS Penji: sometimes we fail sometimes we manage.

Preeto: we were giving some daswand

Preeto: and baba ji said "o no its oks , no need now"

SS Penji: now you do the sangat in your home bhaji so she accepts that

Preeto: and we just said "well EVERYTHING is your baba ji"

Preeto: and Baba ji was happy that we realised and said "that's it, now you get it, now you get what daswand is for, NOT FOR ME, but to open your heart 100%"

Preeto: He said that our giving of daswand is complete, our dues are cleared.

SS Penji: Nice bhaji

Preeto: And we had also had a dream a few weeks before that

Preeto: we saw a sevadar taking an envelope to baba ji

Preeto: and said this is Harjit's daswand

Preeto: and Baba ji asked him "well what does Harjit WANT in return?"

Preeto: and then we came running out and said to Baba ji "no baba ji we dont want anything, everything is yours."

SS Penji: nice bhaji. so bhaji dassan dass ji is in usa and babaji is in canada rt? we saw dassan dass ji in our dream too. it was a kind of sangat in india and dassan das ji was sleeping at night we were all waiting for him to wake up.

Preeto: so it happens inside us first, deep down inside us we have to surrender out of love, that even in our dreams only truth happens

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: yes DD in US & BJ in Canada

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: yes, everything will happen in your dreams and samadhis

SS Penji: your guru is Baba ji or DD. I am asking too much bhaji. sorry

Preeto: they are with you ALL the time, just do SAT NAAM

Preeto: Dassan Dass ji introduced us to Baba ji 10 yrs ago over email

Preeto: and baba ji gave us Naam over the phone

Preeto: so Baba ji is our Sat Guru

Preeto: and after that baba ji blessed Dassan Dass ji to give naam over email to others

Preeto: but they are both our SatGuru

Preeto: same light inside

Preeto: Baba ji says, there is no difference between him and dassan dass ji now

SS Penji: that's beautiful

Preeto: and just as daswand becomes complete

Preeto: the time as being a Sikh ends too

Preeto: when your SatGuru releases you

Preeto: makes you the same as him

Preeto: and says - ok now you are direct with God, go and do what god wants you to in the world.

Preeto: so that is why on this path it's so important to be like Bhai Lehna ji

Preeto: and like dassan dass ji with his guru

Preeto: 100% trust, love and devotion

Preeto: until they say your daswand is complete

SS Penji: hanji bhaji

Preeto: until they say your bhagti is complete

Preeto: otherwise we have seen so many REALLY blessed souls in this sangat

Preeto: who gave more than anyone else,

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: who experienced more than anyone else

Preeto: but right at the end

Preeto: they declared themself as SATGURU

Preeto: BEFORE Baba ji let them go

SS Penji: oh like under ego

Preeto: and they stopped listening to their Guru

SS Penji: not good

Preeto: YES even having all the GIAN , ego made them blind.

SS Penji: ego kills you, see even in the end you lose if ego dominates

Preeto: Because in those final stages there is SAT KA NASHA

SS Penji: oh

Preeto: intoxication of SAT/Truth

Preeto: like a drug

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: makes you feel most powerful and wonderful

SS Penji: now they lost everything? can they restart now or in next life only?

Preeto: they lost everything

SS Penji: oh

Preeto: and are left with anger and bitterness and blame baba ji, whenever some asks for forgiveness they can restart.  Same happened with us , at the beginning we slandered baba ji, realised our mistake, went to see him to apologize ad he has transformed us in his kindness – buraa da bhalaa kar – he only did kindness to me the bad one.   That is what a true SatGuru does.

SS Penji: oh

Preeto: we saw some of them recently, they have gone dark

Preeto: no light left on their faces

SS Penji: they could have waited. its not baba ji who did that but the worst thief ego did

Preeto: the thing is there is always going to be a HARD test at the end

Preeto: and the more someone has ego, the HARDER the test

Preeto: that's why Dassan Dass ji had no tests like the others did

Preeto: because from day one he killed his doubts

SS Penji: recognising the tests is hard bhaji, No? sometimes you react then realise it later that it could had been a test

Preeto: you can say he had no doubts

Preeto: he said first time he met baba ji, he didn't see baba ji, but God himself, that is why he calls Baba ji "Maharaj Ji".

SS Penji: wow

Preeto: and no matter what others said or did in the sangat

Preeto: he only believed what baba ji said

SS Penji: good

Preeto: same way

Preeto: we had so many doubts/dubidha about baba ji

Preeto: but we always believed Dassan Dass ji

Preeto: and has got us thru all of our dubidha

Preeto: and when we got confused

Preeto: we just used to say to our mind "well why did you take on a guru if you are not going to listen to him?"

Preeto: and we have got thru the tests like that.

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: the simpler we are

Preeto: the less tests there are

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: tests are actually only there to show us our weaknesses

Preeto: what we still need to work on

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: so giving daswand shows a person how much greed and attachment there is still around their heart

Preeto: doing dandauth to others

Preeto: shows how much pride we still have to bow to god in others

SS Penji: bhaji we try to do everything with patience, like household things, taking care of guests, husband and daughter but sometimes when we get tired, we lose patience

Preeto: yes, you have 1 kid - wait till you have 3 - and an angry spouse!

SS Penji: hehe

Preeto: when your five these take over, you calm down and  just do ardas afterwards, touch everyone's feet

Preeto: then next time it happens

Preeto: and you see you are losing patience

SS Penji: our husband is nice. he does simran too but for one hour. he never did that before. he helps us but still

Preeto: just take a deep breath, say Sat Naam

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: and even if you still get too angry

Preeto: just leave the room and cool down

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: then you slowly conquer your old habits

SS Penji: hanji

Preeto: now on a good day we can stay in the same place with kids crying, wife upset etc and just stay calm/quiet and say "god bless you" in our mind

Preeto: then  talk to the kids one at a time

Preeto: listen to them

Preeto: cool everyone down!

Preeto: so when we learn to be calm our self in Sat Naam

Preeto: then other people's five thieves cannot aggravate our five thieves

Preeto: and instead our pace /naam amrit

Preeto: calms them down too.

Preeto: plus your daughter is 2

Preeto: so next 2 yrs she is going to be doing tantrums and demanding a lot

Preeto: gr8

Preeto: it's tough with 2-4r old

Accept Your Destiny (Bhaag)

Preeto: thanks for the tip on Fri - do what is important now, was getting overwhelmed with what to do after I leave this job

SK penji: another thing i forgot to mention is break the tasks down in to small bits as well

Preeto: its racing outside looking to hold onto something

Preeto: is unfulfilled in some way

Preeto: so is looking to find happiness in these things

Preeto: but these things are on the outside again

SK penji: yeh chasing desires to fill a gap

SK penji: the hole in the heart

Preeto: yes

Preeto: so we have to turn it around right away when those desires come in , by doing humble ardas

Preeto: "Satnaam Satguru ji we only want YOU to fill the hole in our heart"

Preeto: so been praying like that

Preeto: and also Baba ji taught us a few weeks ago, "Sachay Patshah make me do whatever YOU want me to do"

Preeto: trouble with that is we still dont know what that is!!

Preeto: so mind runs around thru all the options again

Preeto: but we realise we dont actually NEED to know right now what HE WANTS us to do in the future

SK penji: yeh

SK penji: im sure if you take care of today

SK penji: he will take care of tomorrow for u

Preeto: yes, just take care of today

SK penji: jee

Preeto: let HIM worry about tomorrow

SK penji: i think like Dassan Dass ji says bhagti is so simple but for us manmukhs its soo hard because we make a cobweb in our minds

Preeto: Baba ji also taught us that SatNaam is already planning what is coming to us in the next moment

Preeto: as per our BHAAG, what we have sown in the past of this life and previous lives), is coming to us right now, and in the next moment and in the next

Preeto: so mind worrying about tomorrow and looking for direction and getting overwhlemed, is not going to change what I am going to get as per my BHAAG

Preeto: in the past, is determining what is coming to you now and next

SK penji: ok

Preeto: so Baba ji said to one of the sangat as she was the only one drinking coke, that he had bought the bottle of coke at the supermarket a few weeks previously

Preeto: it sat in his kitchen for a while

Preeto: then sangat came

Preeto: and now she is drinking it

Preeto: Baba ji said, that drink meeting that person at that time

Preeto: is as per that person's BHAAG

Preeto: and same principle applies to everything in everyone's life

SK penji: oh wow

Preeto: from the next penny coming to you

Preeto: the next business or career opportunity coming to you

Preeto: the next piece of food coming to you

Preeto: the next breath coming to you

Preeto:  the next relationship, friend, foe, aquaintance or lover

Preeto: or even a baby  coming to you

Preeto: and also whatever is going from you , from money, to saliva when kissing your child, from urine and waste leaving your body and going into the Earth and recycled and so on

SK penji: ok and if we refuse whatever is coming

Preeto: so every moment in our life  is running as per our unique personal  BHAAG (destiny as per what we have sown is what we reap)

Preeto: and if we accept our BHAAG, then we are living in the HUKAM, in peace

Preeto: and if we dont accept it, we still cant change it no matter how much we resist it, and we live in hell state of mind - always fighting inside.

SK penji: yep

Preeto: the following line sums it up well, "do your best, let god do the rest"

SK penji: yeh excellent line

Preeto: if you know you tried your best

Preeto: then accept whaatever happens as what God wanted for you, as per your BHAAG

Preeto: then there is no hell due to disappointment or unfulfilled wants

Preeto: like a farmer, you sow 100 seeds

Preeto: water them all, look after them all

Preeto: some will die, some will flower, some will give fruit also

Preeto: so in life you do ardas before starting your venture

Preeto: sow the seeds, try your best, learn from your mistakes, accept what happens, try again starting with ardas ", "Sachay Patshah make me do whatever YOU want me to do"

SS Penji: Bhaji we used to wake up at 3am earlier then today we woke up at 2 but feel sleepy in meditation. also Bhaji, because of the involuntary yoga, we feel we fail to concentrate on Satnaam simran. we keep listening to it like our own sounds but sometimes we are lost in the movements and somewhere else like sleep.

SS Penji: we feel something is missing in our meditation.

Preeto: it's all about learning about yourself

Preeto: then keep doing humble ardas when u don't understand

Preeto: and asking sat guru inside to guide us

SS Penji: hanji bhaji. you are right

SS Penji: bhaji I was a very simple person

SS Penji: v down to earth, loyal and clear hearted

SS Penji: then when we went to the university in Punjab for higher studies, our friends used to tell us that we have to be smart not like this so simple, we got to understand the terms like jealous and all bad things that we never knew before. we did sins too. those sins now brought us to do more path and simran. we never thought we will come to this spiritual path, we did not know about it. now we love it and want to go ahead on this path ASAP.

Preeto: it's good to see the "smart" (dark side) of our self

Preeto: that we DONT see or feel or have all these amazing experiences

Preeto: because we know we would get too much ego

Preeto: and have seen others in sangat who experienced, and saw everything

SS Penji: oh ok bhaji got you. ego is so bad. it keeps coming back.

Preeto: but in the end thought they were bigger than sat guru

Preeto: ego is the last thing to go

Preeto: ego is there even when you have all your spiritual experiences

SS Penji: we are getting what you are saying. so we should always feel we know nothing even when you know something about your experiences

SS Penji: become zero

Preeto: if guru arjun dev ji, who knew everything and experienced everything, can say "meree mut thoree ram"

Preeto: - my wisdom is little

Preeto: then we have to remember that too

Preeto: baba ji always tells us , if anyone asks how far are you in bhagti, just say I am still at the beginning

Preeto: and it's not false modesty

Preeto: it's absolutely true

Preeto: because Satnaam is infinite

Preeto: and no matter how much we experience it will only be a tiny spec of what Satnaam is

SS Penji: Good you told us this, it will help us a lot. bhaji we had no zero when we were with our parents, we got it from the society when we left home and went to the univ. now it is hard to get rid of this ego.

Preeto: but its guru ji's blessing upon you that you realise what needs to be done

Preeto: gur bin gian na hoi

Preeto: gur bin samajh na aavay

Preeto: gur bin ghor andhaar

Preeto: without guru we would not have any understanding of this thing called ego

Preeto: and what to do about it

SS Penji: hanji bhaji, god has been helping us a lot. Bhaji we were simple and down to earth till we got married. these bad things evolved after the marriage. The last 5-6 years were bad.

Preeto: yes

Preeto: we went thru similar things

Preeto: important thing is where you are right now

Preeto: past has gone

Preeto: future hasn't happened

Preeto: only thing that is important is this moment

Preeto: and when we say Satnaam

Preeto: we bring the mind into awareness of SATNAAM right here right now in between us in this moment

Preeto: all MAYA is is your perception

Preeto: like it's a sunny day outside

Preeto: all is bright and beautiful

Preeto: but you put on sunglasses

Preeto: and now everything looks brownish

Preeto: Satnaam is all around

Preeto: in everything - trees, air, water, rocks, space, fire , earth - everything is HIM, HIS NAAM supports everything

Preeto: and also HIS NAAM , is supporting us

Preeto: but our mind is like the sunglasses

Preeto: Maya is the brownish colour we see everything with

Preeto: so when mind is seeing everything Maya glasses

Preeto: then we don't see bright and beautiful SATNAAM

Preeto: we see other people and things as separate from our self

Preeto: then we judge others

Preeto: then we can slander, get jealous, compete, get greedy, get lustful etc. etc.

SS Penji: bhaji we have one daughter, she will be 2 on 29th. can we still keep doing meditation if we get pregnant

SS Penji: but the yoga moves your body a lot will that be safe

Preeto: Satnaam is the creator

Preeto: and doer

Preeto: let Him worry

Preeto: she had same experiences as you are 2 yrs ago when we went to see baba ji

Preeto: she had so many doubts about sants etc

Preeto: but her husband H paji met us thru the email and trusted baba ji

Preeto: so she came to sangat when we went there 2 yrs ago

Preeto: baba ji blessed her with one look of amrit

Preeto: she couldn't stop dancing and yoga moves (Samadhi Asans)

Preeto: it was very painful for her

Preeto: because she had been off 2yrs from work after car crash with physical problems

Preeto: but she completely healed

Preeto: and we saw her again a few weeks ago

Preeto: she is pregnant, we think her Asians have stopped mostly (its only for a time you are being cleaned up and balanced inside)

Preeto: and now she has amazing experiences with the unborn baby

Preeto: baby is in Samadhi, baby is moving

Preeto: she can hear the baby doing simran

Preeto: and baba ji said baby is also doing Samadhi Asians, that is the movements inside

Preeto: so don't worry about anything

Preeto: naam takes care of everything

Preeto: see it all as a wonderful adventure

Preeto: new things happen everyday

SS Penji: that's so beautiful

Preeto: things we can't even imagine, He will show us when we are ready

Preeto: but we have been in Samadhi and are heart opened up, and baba ji was on the other side

Preeto: so our energies are more balanced because of that

Preeto: but when people come into baba ji's sangat

Preeto: and they haven't done anything spiritual all there life

Preeto: then the Naam Amrit is very powerful and they go on the fast track - fast cycle of the washing machine!!!

Preeto: they get cleaned up quickly, have lots of experiences very quickly, but also big tests come for them very quickly,

Preeto: because they haven't trusted baba ji 100%

Preeto: so there ego fights back

Preeto: and they fall back.

SS Penji: ok, we are in the asan but not in the Samadhi. wen yoga/asans happen, we are very awake that time so it is not Samadhi. we read about dassan das ji it was opposite to us. he went to samadhis then he had the yoga later on. bhaji this yoga is so beautiful.

Preeto: same with D Penji

Preeto: she was wide awake and body is moving,

Preeto: very gracefully , blessing everyone

SS Penji: we are waiting for the next stage now. once the yoga is over.

Preeto: it is waking Samadhi

SS Penji: like awakened Samadhi

SS Penji: you are on both sides like in world and Samadhi both?

Preeto: all Samadhi means is you have merged

Preeto: yes

Preeto: so you have merged with your own soul

Preeto: gone thru the barrier of the mind/ego

Preeto: first baba ji says we need to learn to do that by sitting down, disciplined amritvela, throw out all the negativity,

SS Penji: but we see ego in our daily activities . we find it here and there

Preeto: yes, ego is always there too

Preeto: sense of self always comes back

Preeto: like when you sit on a sofa and for a while it changes shape

Preeto: but when you get up it goes back to how it was

Preeto: when you do Satnaam

Preeto: you feel peace and love and go into Samadhi if he blesses us

Preeto: but when you come back into day to day life

Preeto: then ego , mind etc come back

Preeto: so the whole aim of your bandagi is to 100% decimate the ego

Preeto: strip away every aspect of yourself that keeps you away from being merged with your soul/SAT 100%

Preeto: so during the day, every experience you have

Preeto: ask yourself, what 5 thieves were in it, what ego was in it, what worries/jealousies etc were in it?

Preeto: and then keep doing ardas and throwing them out

Preeto: every fear , or worry, attachment etc that comes up is thanks to the day to day life you are living

SS Penji: we keep doing ardas for maafi for our paaps and mistake to baba ji.

Preeto: so daily life is showing us what we need to still work on

Preeto: and that is why we say every day we have our own struggles

Preeto: but we take the guru's gian

Preeto: and overcome those struggles

Preeto: and come back to peace and love

Preeto: and that is called BANDAGI

Preeto: that is how we EARN the GIAN

SS Penji: it happened when we read meanings of sukhmani sahib, we started doing naam simran and we don't remember if we hit the Satnaam website that time or afterwards.

Preeto: they enter into realm of trying to unite with God

Preeto: (dharam really means path to Union with God, but people translate as religion)

SS Penji: that's exactly what happened with us

Preeto: then next stage is to understand

Preeto: so you start doing nitnem, prayers, listen to gurbani, katha , kirtan etc

Preeto: ..collecting the gian - divine wisdom

Preeto: gian khand - realm of spiritual wisdom

SS Penji: hanji bhaji we listen to maskeen ji's katha, read GGSJ and kirtan sohila

Preeto: all good, all is gian khand

Preeto: then a person thinks, "now I need to make some serious efforts"

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: try my best (as you said earlier)

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: that's called saram khand

Preeto: realm of efforts

Preeto: so people get up early, do nitnem

Preeto: go to gurdwara do seva

Preeto: get more serious,

Preeto: follow more religious rules

Preeto: about what they eat, what they wear, where they go, etc etc

SS Penji: this all comes under saram khand r? what next, what's karma khand

Preeto: but without grace that is as far as they get

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: our own effort can get us only this far

Preeto: sure, people can get psychic powers

Preeto: from their concentration and determination

Preeto: they can look like a great Sikh/Muslim etc

Preeto: they can get a lot of respect from community

Preeto: they can become president of gurdwara or worldwide famous preacher too

Preeto: but still only in saram khand

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: we went thru the same thing

Preeto: but only a few go to kharam khand

Preeto: kharam means grace

Preeto: realm of grace

SS Penji: what's next to saram khan is karam khand and that we get with grace. what happens in karam khand

Preeto: means God inside you sees you are really doing a lot of good deeds

Preeto: and have cut out bad deeds

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: and you are really praying from the heart to be with god,

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: in fact you are so desperate that you don't even want to live anymore without God

Preeto: that you would rather die than be without god any longer

SS Penji: ok

Preeto: only then, and only if you have good destiny from the past, you will be blessed by god with His grace - GurParsaad

Preeto: and He will lead you to the nearest (karmically) heart in which He has manifested

Preeto: in order to ignite you with the GurParsaad of Naam.

SS Penji: so you won't get it if your pat lives were bad or you can still get it if God wants to

Preeto: yes and yes

Preeto: bhaag hoa gur sant milaayaa

Preeto: bhaag means your destiny was good and you met the Sant guru

Preeto: and bin bhaagaa sat sangat na labaay

Preeto: without bhaag - good destiny - you won't find the sangat of Truth

Preeto: so whole world is making so much effort to find god

SS Penji: oh bhaji we are too far then. we don't know if we will get God in this life or not

Preeto: but only relatively  few will get the grace

Preeto: to meet their Sant guru who then blesses them with GurParsaadi Naam.

Preeto: Because unless we have done enough good deeds in the past, god will make us wait, no matter how much effort we are making, because that is His divine law.

Preeto: you are at kharam khand stage

Preeto: Sant guru has blessed you, that is why you are experincing Samadhi and asans

Preeto: that is why Dassan Dass ji called you "suhagan"

Preeto: suhaag means you have been accepted by god as a bride (suhaagan)

Preeto: and just by you being divine and bright and calm and peaceful

SS Penji: we were too emotional and looking for love all the time then we realized the true love we were looking for is God not any human relation or being.

Preeto: and just became peaceful, became Satnaam,

Preeto: and gave up trying to convince them or teach them

Preeto: and prayed to god for them

Preeto: they put in a good word for us with god, he opens the door to our heart  even if it wasn't written in this life time

Preeto: namdev ji and triclochan ji used to pray together

Preeto: and triclochan ji was desperate to see God so he requested namdev ji to pray for him

Preeto: and god laughed saying it wasn't written for triclochan ji to see yet

Preeto: but god said I cannot say no to my bhagats/lovers

Preeto: and gave his darshan to triclochan ji.

Preeto: so that is why doing seva of a Sant helps us more than we ever will know

Preeto: because we fall in love with their lotus feet

Preeto: sat guru kee seva sufal ha

Preeto: je ko karay chit laai

Preeto: and what was all messed up in our life, gets straightened out

Preeto: because of their love for us

Preeto: through effort no one found God

Preeto: He is the Almighty, All powerful all pervading

Preeto: how can a tiny speck of dust called a human possibly command god to appear?

SS Penji: beautiful stories and good teachings for us bhaji

Preeto: but through complete surrender, complete love, complete humility  , baba ji said "a pebble (Baba ji) pierced the diamond/SAT"

Preeto: and when we get Naam from them, we are holding onto His feet

Preeto: and Sant SatGuru is a tunnel to God for all of us

Preeto: Then you make your connection of divine with Satnaam SatGuru in your heart, mind, body and soul. 

SS Penji: bhaji we want to tell you something, in the beginning we had bad feeling about you, we were meditating always with your meditation music in the background. once someone said what's hypnotising. then we thought bad about you that if you're a true person or hypnotising. this feeling made us very upset that we thought like this about you. God made it clear to us that you are true and attached us more to you with better faith. We were fool bhaji. please forgive us.

Preeto: When we sit for simran we say "Satnaam SatGuru Baba ji, may we love your lotus feet, like Bhai Lehna ji loved Baba Nanak ji."

Preeto: there's nothing good about us!

Preeto: but always we have to look inside us and see where the thoughts are coming from

Preeto: Shiva, brahma and Vishnu

Preeto: destructive energy, desiring/creating energy, neutral

Preeto: so whenever we try and do something positive, there will always be a negative thought in the background too

Preeto: there will always be a thought saying negative, questioning you

Preeto: that is called dubidha

Preeto: so you just have to recognise what mind is doing and say" ok mind, you are on the destructive side, "

Preeto: mind will start dreaming about doing this or that

Preeto: and you have to realise what mind is doing

Preeto: and step back and say "ok mind you are now in brahma side, , right now I need to do my Satnaam, can dream later!!"

Preeto: and say Satnaam and come back to neutral, Satnaam, peace

Preeto: these are called three parts of Maya

Preeto: they run the three parts of the mind

SS Penji: such a good information again

Preeto: when you do good deeds and Satnaam

Preeto: you are in neutral part

Preeto: and then with grace

Preeto: you transcend into Samadhi (heart part)

Preeto: that is called chautha pad

Preeto: fourth state,.

Preeto: so that is why dassan dass ji says do at least 2.5hrs at amritvela

Preeto: first 2 hrs is just to get into neutral (on this earth as he says)

Preeto: then you transcend (go beyond).

SS Penji: ok bhaji, we complete 2-2.5 hrs then start thinking about going to the cosy bed. s also sleeps by 10.

Preeto: you are doing great

Preeto: just always have thirst for god in your heart

Preeto: and He will make your situation perfect to do more and longer simran

Preeto: the one who even has one iota of Naam in their heart

Preeto: that one's glory can not be described

Preeto: see the relaxation is hypnotising

Preeto: but all hypnotizing means is it is letting your conscious mind relax

SS Penji: then we think we should feel good about them coz you never know at what stage of spiritual journey they are at.

SS Penji: they are very happy with us that we do simran now. they always wanted us to do this

Preeto: just ask them, "am I getting better or worse by doing this?"

Preeto: that is what we used to say to our family too

Preeto: just say at least we are not drinking or smoking, or partying or taking drugs

Preeto: we are only doing meditation and yoga!!!

Preeto: we used to get annoyed and angry

Preeto: because of her I can see there is still ego inside me which is getting angry

Preeto: otherwise I was sitting in the illusion that I am all spiritual now!!!

Preeto: see Baba ji in others too

Preeto: so when you realise whatever they say

Preeto: is actually your guru testing you

Preeto: seeing how much doubts, anger, ego etc you still have inside you

Preeto: then you smile and say in your mind

Preeto: even if the guru tells me off  - it is sweet to me"

Preeto: on this path everyone in this world will turn against you at some point

Preeto: but you just have to keep going, they throw stones

Preeto: you throw flowers of kind words

Preeto: because like a mother

Preeto: you know the Truth

Preeto: and they are in the darkness

Preeto: but when you get to the other side

Preeto: they will also change

Preeto: but what majority of sangat do when people turn against them

Preeto: is they go back into the darkness

Preeto: lose faith in their guru and forget all the inner experiences they had

Preeto: even if it means family and friends etc turn against you for a while

Very well said. Whenever my mind overpowers my heart you send something to bring it bank on track. Sometimes I feel as what you email is just for my mind, just to let it know that it is nothing and has to stay nothing. Satnaam is every thing. Your emails provide lot of motivation to be back on the right track. For the past few days anger, frustration is all we have had in our mind and life, anger towards son, frustration towards husband. And then later in lot of regret that why we shouted at the little one. But this mind is very bad, plays games, tries to keep us busy in maya and laughs at us.
What to do veerji. How to get out of this cycle of anger, frustration and regret. Going through a bad phase of maya dominating satnaam, can't tolerate it any more.

we are no different frm you, destructive/depressing side of the mind can take over sometimes, really strong and last for ages.   At those times we have often given up amritvela and gone back into comforts from Maya - overeating, too much tv, etc,   but there's no happiness in that either.  So what choice do we have?  To go back into Satnaam.  And thati s what we are 100% determined about now, that we CANNOT miss our 2,5 hrs amritvela, no matter what mind is feeling.  Because "satnaam satnaam" is the only thing that cools our mind, not comfort of Maya, not getting angry at others, not getting angry or depressed due to wallowing in self-pity, complaining about how things never happened as we wanted, feeling like a failure, confused about what to do in the future.

It is as simple as that, mind cools down when we do our 2.5hrs simran every day, ESPECIALLY when we are at our lowest point.   That is all we know.  That is the same answer Dassan Dass ji gives to every single person who emails with problems, sicknesses, worries, anxieties, desires and so on.


It has taken this THICK-HEAD a very long imte to understand HOW TRULY SIMPLE this path is.  Just do SATNAAM SATNAAM, 2.5 hrs every morning with attitude of humblness and thanks at Sant Guru Ji's holy lotus feet.   And all day long keep doing the daily ardas every 10 minutes, to bring mind back to coolness. When we do something we regret, right away do ardas for forgivness and do satnaam again.   when we feel mind is gettin upset again, stop take a few breaths, do ardas, cool down, do satnaam,   Do humble ardas all the time during the day, do 2_5 hrs amritvela every morning.   Our mind has been slowly transformed by donig this, and still we are so dumb we get back into down days as well, but come out if it very quickly, rather than after months and years of feeling down.

When you get upset with others and realise afterwards then do dandauth bandhna at their feet and see Baba ji inside them.

When you see Baba ji inside them, then you will never get upset with them again!

What we don't understand is that the only thing we want from the bottom of our heart is satnaam, it's Simran and bandaging the why this mind forces us to go find happiness in false worldly pleasures. And see what we get from these worldly pleasures, only sorrow, anger, frustration and unhappiness. Our only ardaas to Babaji is to take this dirty mind of maya away and throw it somewhere that we can never find it even if we want to.
I am néech, kaami, krodhi, ahankaari, lobhi. See what this mind is doing, listening to Babaji satsang singing satnaam the whole day but still stuck in maya. I am the lowest of all beings in his whole world, worthy of nothing. Babaji please give some place in your Charan.

See what you are learning is that it doesn't matter what "I want", even "I WANT SATNAAM"  is still ego wanting.  And what you are finding is that mind is not doing what "I WANT".   Mind is still doing what it (ego)  wants.      Why?  Because you have to take responsibility for the state of your mind.  That your mind has become in such a state due to all of your past experiences, past choices, past actions, past reactions, self wisdom, desires, emotions, hopes, wants, jealousies, gossiping, slander, anger, greed, lust, attachment, self-pity, self hatred, complaints, anxiety, worries . . .  and whatever else we have sown.    In simple terms  what we have sown in our mind, we are now reaping in how it reacts to everything.   As a teenager, maybe we got rejected by someone we were really in love with, it hurt us emotionally, we decided that we will never trust anyone again.  So next time in life we have the chance to love someone, we turn away, close our heart just to protect ourself.   Result is over time, we become closed off, lonely and miserable.    So as an old person we dont even remember why we dont like being near people!!  but we sowed that decison into ourself as a young person and now its become an automatic reaction to everyone we meet.      so then we meet Baba ji and he inspires us to trust people again, to love othes, to love Satnaam.  Then we decide we will do satnaam with love for one and all.  But mind has been trained by us over a lifetime to do the opposite, and mind is set in its ways (bad habits), so mind is going to rebel everyime you try to change.

So it doesn't matter how much "I WANT SATNAAM", mind is not going to give up that easily to your new want.    KARMA is basically the state of your mind, you reaping what you have sown in every thought , action and decision you make.  Baab ji explained to us also that to undo that is going to take some time!!!  So that is why firstly we have to accept our misdeeds, that we are responsible for our own messed up mind, become humble, do ardas, and do simran with attitude of humble beggar.
