Satnaam
Qn from karissa ji:
This fool just had one question ji when a person falls in love with another person is that considered to be lust or a form of Maya? They both feel very different but not sure if they are both Maya. The feeling we get when we fall in love with a person, that's the same feeling this fool would like to have with God. But not sure if its Maya as well. Satnaam ji satnaam satnaam satnaam ji 🙏

Satnaam Karissa ji, sada Dandauth bandhna ji to all, you asked about the feeling of love. We were also in the same pursuit, to have the feeling of when you fall in love, but with God as he doesn't break your heart. First of all facing in love is not maya. Baba ji said that is heart to heart where God manifests, like a match strikes the box and fire appears. So baba ji said it's worth dying for that love. It's better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all. Even we were watching the birds in the trees doing mating calls with baba ji, and they said inside them a whole Orchestra if joy is playing, they are in love. So love and fear run us all. Love turns sour when we wrap it in desire. We want to control the other person (ego wants to be king/the boss). We fear losing them (attachment ) and cling onto them, or get jealous if they talk to others. We go into desires, sexual (lust) all the time we think of that. We go into desires of dream life we can have with that person, hopes of a marriage where we can be a prince and Princess for a day then live happily ever after. It can get worse, we get married it becomes about business of money and gifts exchanged, family pride and honour, respect and status. It can be a love that is not approved by the ones around us, baba ji says only a fool tries to stop love. It can be we are in love, but the other person is cheating us for their desires... Sex, or money, or converting us. Even if we decide to stay together, then marriage ceremony is the commitment to love each other till we die. But that feeling of live fades fast as the daily grind kicks in. Because baba ji says both (ego) wants to be served, neither wants to serve the other unconditionally. Expectations and wants, five demons and desires, can all take over. So it's not always bad. Especially if you have the divine wisdom and love and serve God in the other selflessly, without wrapping five demons and desires around them. Because we can't control the outcome, it's as per karma. But do satnaam and serve as lowest, karma can change with guru's grace. Having been through those feelings good and bad, in the end you break (attachments, expectations, desire to be loved) with everyone inside yourself. And reattach to just love the shabad Satnaam, and love everyone's feet as baba jis feet, serve everyone as you serve baba ji, just be a servant of all your spouse and kids, then it's like you love everyone and everything (because you love Satnaam in all), but your not madly in love with anyone in particular.
Plus we are sure baba ji is madly in love with Satnaam ji, just as others are madly in love with baba jis feet. If we don't feel it then pray for it all the time . We pray all the time before doing things, "baba ji please even give us one drop of the ocean of love and humbleness you are. So we may feel your love in our heart."
Instead of getting disheartened that we don't feel it.
We said to an old sikh preacher friend last month, we were looking for true love, love that never dies, a love you can pour your heart into and have no fear the person will crush your heart under their feet. And we got the intuition, Love God. To love god we thought we need to follow Sikhism, but we met hardly anyone who wanted to love God. They want to be Sikhs for so many other reasons, pride I am someone, being part of a community, please other people, forced, etc. But now we have sangat of guru and devotees who only want to love God. God gives everyone what they want. But if we don't want to love God, we get lesser God's and religious paths. So how blessed we are. "I tell the truth, so listen all, only those who loved, realised God." (sach kaho sun leho sabay Jin Prem keeo tin hee prabh Paavo) — tenth guru ji.
