Praise guru, dhan guru and meaning of ji

Satnaam satnaam satnaam ji dhan guru wahe guru sat guru ji

Maharaj said on last weeks recording to also praise our guru (dhan guru) along with our simran (satnaam),

In uk a few years ago dassan dass ji made us do jap

Actually , sat is the naam, and  sat is the guru we are praising

Maharaj also explained the meaning of ji

They said dhan dhan bhai lehna ji only responded with love to dhan dhan baba nanak ji, by answering "ji"....which is why he passed the final test, when baba nanak ji said, 'eat the corpse under the sheet' and dhan bhai lehna ji said , "ji", but others hesitated.

Maharaj ji said that when bhai lehna ji said "ji" it meant "har ji"....my most respected dearly beloved god

Har ji mata
Har ji pita
Har ji meree sar karay
Hum.har kay barik

Dear god is my mother
Dear god is my father
Dear god takes care of everything of mine
I am the child of my dear god.

This is what dhan bhai lehna ji (as sikh of the guru) saw in dhan baba nanak ji, when they only answered with 'ji', they only stood humble servant infront of dear god. There was no 'kintu pruntu' ..ifs and buts, maybe or maybe not, no doubting, no questioning, only 'ji' to whatever dhan nirankar dhan baba nanak ji his dear guru said.

Then maharaj said, but we have degraded the word 'ji', because any elderly man with a white beard, we start calling them ji,  baba ji, ...when there is no 'har ji/dear god' manifested in them, all they have is a white beard on the outside but dark deeds on the inside.

Also , the first sant we met, he also spoke so sweetly and told us to use ji when talking about the gurus and bhagats,  so not just sant kabir, but sant kabir ji

Ji is so sweet, full of kindness, satnaam satnaam satnaam ji satguru satguru satguru ji

In gurbani it has been used as such, so much sweetness, humbleness in that one word

Har ji mata
Har ji pita

Prabh ji tu mere praan adhara

Satnaam satnaam satnaam ji satguru satguru dhan guru ji.

Bring in sweetness and humbleness into our writing, speech,

Bring in humbleness and lowliness in our actions, do dandauth, massage gursikhs feet

Baba ji maharaj said all that goes with our soul is  the amount of love and loving actions we have all day long whilst doing satnaam.
