The longing process

Satnaam  ji,

desire for god, desire for sangat, desire to sing his praises, desire for naam , seva and bandagi, is all good. 

Sadhguru said desire is actually part of the longing process inside everyone. The part that longs to be more than it is. If we were happy as we are, why do we seek out a partner, or a job or qualifications?  We are trying to be more than what we already are.

If we are in body consciousness, then we our longing comes out as desire for other bodies, bigger family, more kids etc

If we are in mind intellect, then our longing to be more comes out as more qualifications, more knowledge.

If we are in minds emotional consciousness, then longing to be more comes out as ambition for more busineses, more properties, etc

But all those ways of filling our basic longing to be more than we are are finite.  We still arent satisfied even if we collect everything in the world.

Bukhia bukh na utri je banniaa pureea paar

..hunger does not go even if we eat a mountain full of rotis/poorees

So only satnaam in our astral body can fulfil our longing inside, only it can take us beyond finite limits of body and mind (intellect and emotions).  Only naam takes us into beant..infinity.
Hirdha...soul, satnaam, divine light.  And that is the only thing that satisfies that longing inside us.

When that longing is directed into things of the body and mind we call it desire.  When that longing is directed into satnaam, gurbani calls it prabh milan ka chao.  Or mera munn lochay gur darshan thaee.

Or we can say it another way, everyone is looking for love, for happiness, but looking for it in the body and mind is desire, leads to dukh.  But looking for love in satnaam leads to god and doesnt burn us, but frees us and satisfies us.
