Sat baba ji maharaj gave a great image for us, said mansarovar (gods ocean of light) is unselfish and unconditional love...is param atma..supreme soul. Think of it as a balloon full of water (divine light), then twist one side to make a small balloon. That is us, atma. The twist is ego that keeps us in the small side, cant see the connection to the infinite side so keeps us in the illusion of i, me and mine..selfish and conditional. And selfishness leads to darkness of maya. Untwist by saying not me, not mine, all your, all yours, nothing is mine, i am nothing, i am no one,i am not capable of doi g anything, you are the creator, you are the doer, not me. Then we step into the divine light side. So gurpreeto is on gurmukh side as we are in service of sat guru jis but still we leave one foot in manmukh side ..old self harjit singh lakhan. And that one gets depressed, down due to selfish desires and worries and then lack of trust in the god and guru that gurpreeto is serving. So baba ji said to us pull out that foot and put both feet firmly with full faith in sat guru sat parbraham ji...and dont look back, dont worry.
