Do I Need A Living SatGuru?


QUESTION

Dear preeto ji,

Sat sri akal ji,

Please tell me if i need a living satguru for my true path. Or shri guru granth sahib ji is my living satguru for guidance?

It is not for us or anyone to tell you, it has to be a call from within that guides you to your teacher.   Read sggs ji and all the gurus and bhagats are telling you their lovestory with god thru their shabads.  That they were suffering, outcaste, unloved, that they tried really hard for decadesto find god in their repsective religions , but only when they met god in the heart of their guru did they get the gurparsaad of naam, and everything blossomed for them. All of sggs is telling us what they did and what we also need to do.

How do you feel inside about having a truth teacher, alongside sggs? Its not either or.

 i believe God decided ggs ji as my guru as babaji made me to read it. when i read that the satguru is to be living i get confused. on the other side Guru gobind singh ji said tht SGGS ji the living jyot and our guru.  so now, i am confused. what do you feel about my satguru. i feel i should not question my bhagti and as you said that God will himself   I sent you my meditation experiences also.

We also were like you 10yrs ago. We have learned that modern preaching does not match up with what gurbani guru is saying. To get out of confusion, we decided ONLY to follow gurbani guru 100 percent, even if it seemed to go against what we have been told.

It is NOT written anywhere in sggs ji that. Sggs ji (or any granth) is living jyot/light. Even "guru manyo granth" shabd is NOT written by tenth guru ji but afterwards.

Gurbani says that "bani guru guru ha bani vich bani amrit saray,". Which everyone quotes and it means gurbani is the guru. But next line is not mentioned by preachers much "sevak jun jis no manaa partakh guru nistaray.". Which means "the divine servant who obeys gurbani guru, the manifested guru ferries them across.

So always there has been the. Servant(sikh), the shabad guru, and the manifested guru. 

guru gobind singh ji did not change it, he gave honour to gurbani by calling it guru granth sahib ji - so it is our gurbani guru- or gian guru as it has the brahmgian - divine wisdom of all the manifested gurus in it. And also guru gobind singh ji said "khalsa mera satguru poora" - khalsa is my SAT GURU.

Nowadays preachers say sggs is SATGURU. But what does guru gobind singh ji say "pooran jyot jagay ghat meh tab khaalas tahi nikaalas jaanay"-the one in whose HEART the perfect light of GOD shines is known as KHALSA otherwise noone is khalsa.

So SAT - TRUTH itself is the pooran jyot, the lifeforce that makes every heart alive. When this manifests inside you (thru kundalini experience and more as you are beginning to experience), then SAT becomes the GURU siiting on the throne of your heart serving HIS creation (as sevak junn).

There is only one guru and that is GOD - and when you earn HIS gurbani and meditate on the EK shabad-one naam, SATNAAM, He manifests inside you. Then that is the living jyot manifested, that is called GURU, not physical body or physical holy scriptures.

Does this make sense?

thankyou for letting us serve you. When mind is confused it blocks our progress, blocks our connection to our heart.   When someone tells us the Truth, then we feel our mind clear up and our heart open up.

Just as you are beginning to experience god within you, just imagine what will happen when god does manifest within you, wouldn't God in your heart want to serve and bless others with his grace (GurParsaad)?   So that is why we go and surrender at the feet of those ones who have God sitting in their heart.  Guru Gobind Singh Ji says about those ones, those pure Khalsa, the one who have SAT as the GURU inside them:


It is through their actions that I have been victorious, and have been able to give charities to others.
It is through their help that I have overcome all sorrows and ailments and have been able to fill my house with treasures.
It is through their grace that I have got education, and through their assistance I have conquered all my enemies.
It is through their aid that I have attained this status, otherwise there are millions of unknown mortals like me.



We are very fortunate to have met SatNaam Baba Ji and Dassan Dass ji both of whom have SAT as the GURU sitting in their heart.  There is nothing wrong in seeking their blessings and serving SAT inside them.   Once they bless us, they are with us in the form of Gur-Jyot - Guru's Light.  They help us everytim we rememebr SAtnaam satnaam.  They appear to us in our meditation, they guide us through all the inner realms and tests.  They answer our questions from within, they help us more than we can ever know.
They are the closest thing to God on Earth, otherwise god never takes birth and never dies.  He only manifests inside a pure heart.  Pure only comes to pure.  And only pure can make another one pure.  Their SAT GURU is God Himself, they hold onto God;s feet, we hold onto their feet.

i surrender myself to all khalsas who are so pure and blessed with the SAT in  their hearts.
i am so so so blessed to be a part of you all. I have no sikh community around here. Thanks a lot to my babaji to give me the company of yours. Thanks a lot for adding me into the yahoo groups and facebook groups. in short thanks a lot for adding me into your circle of sach.
