The Guru Cuts Our Bonds

SatNaam

FROM FACEBOOK:

23 year old Balwinder Singh (Shrawan Kumar of 21st century) For more than 2 years, he is carrying his mother on his back, so that his blind mother can do "Char dhaam yatra"

FROM PREETO:

When you have a Guru, the Guru carries you on his back out of this world of darkness into the Light.
When you recite God's name - Truth, your guru pulls you into the Light within you. That is the inner pilgrimage to Truth.
Physical carrying and physical pilgrimages shows alot of courage and sacrifice,
but does not help you with your inner pilgrimage.

Our friend at work, she told me that in HongKong they cremate the dead.  But the ashes are kept in urns and the urns are kept at the oldest sons house
in a beautiful wooden wardrobe.  You open the door and see the urns of generations.  It is regarded as a great honour to be the one who looks after these ashes of ancestors.
Culture has made it into a great honour, but in reality it is just another burden of carrying the past on the head of the oldest son and he will pass onto his son.
In a few hundred yrs that wardrobe will be the size of a house with urns everywhere - what a burden,

She also told me that after her mother-in-law died, the monks made them do so many ritualistic ceremonies, for days on end.  Even they know her ghost will be hanging around,
so one week after the death, the family get together at the deceased's house, then prepare food for the ghost to return at midnight, then the oldest daughter has to go across the road and crawl
back to the house.   Showing she is still less than the mother-in-law.  Then the oldest son has to make a room in his house where her photo is put up and decorated, and his wife (y firend) has to light incnese everyday
..for the rest of her life.       We said to our firend, you have made her in to a god, you are worshipping ancestors instead of letting them go.   WHAT A BURDEN, and you will pass it on to your children if you dont break out of it.   But the culture is so strong she cannot break out of it without getting accused of not caring about the mother-in-law.

Every culture is promoting rituals and ceremonies based on waht they value, and in Indian and Chinese culture they value children respecting the parents - even after death, because in that way everyone remains under control of the elders, no one follows their heart, everyone just keeps the belief system alive.

Baba ji said if we do not break out of the illsusions we are trapped in due to our belief system (including our religous beliefs), then we have blown our chance in time and space, because we have stayed stuck in the mind, rather than living from our heart.

Without a Satguru no one breaks out

kaam krodh moh munn leena
bandhan kaat mukat gur keena
The mind is absorbed completely in lust, anger and family attachments,
the Guru cut these entanglements and set me free.
- Guru Arjun Dev ji.

BTW do not laugh at the indian man above carrying his mother, or the chinese culture of keeping ashes and making a shrine for the dead,  look inside at your own relgious beliefs and see what foolishness you yourself are following.

God Bless All
