Tips to get out of Kaam - lust

Satnaam ji,
Dandauth bandhana ji

When you really want to get out of the grips of lust, then you can do it and you will do it with Guru's kindness.
Confess your problem and the things that you have done in the name of lust - confess and pray to God-Guru for forgiveness.
A sincere prayer is hear right away and forgiven even before we finish our prayer- that is how kind God-Guru is to us.

Then when you really want to get out of Kaam -lust, deep down, then change your habits to avoid the situations where kaam gets you.  For me it was to avoid watching TV after 9pm.  For others it was to get rid of their laptop.   Then battle with the cravings of the mind to go back to those habits for a few weeks and months, then it gets easier.

Also when walking by women in daily life, just diverting my eyes to their feet and repeating "ukee soothak koor par tria roopak dekh" ...the falseness of the eyes is in looking at the beauty of other women..Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Becoming aware of what our eyes are doing, what thoughts are then going through our mind and nipping it in the bud by overwriting it with this one line really really helped repgrogram my habits.

When sleeping with your partner keep your mind on your wife and not dreaming of other women is good too - Guru Gobind Singh ji said dont even think of another women even in a dream.  Even while fantasizing keep your mind focused on your wife and no one else.

In all these ways you can help to reign in your mind.  It may not be possible to instantly turn of f kaam, but at least we can contain it to thoughts of our partner only.  Then it doesnt bite us, then it is not considered as lust, Kaam as far as I understand.

And most importantly Baba ji told me once (without me asking, but it was on my mind at that time!) to just keep doing "Sat naam Sat naam" even through the act of Kaam.

Dust of your feet
