Guru Gobind Singh Ji and The Rock

Satnaam ji,
We heard a beautiful Katha today which we want to share with you
(forgive us if any mistakes are made):

This is of the time of Dhan Dhan Guru Gobhind Singh Ji Maharaj when he
was delivering priceless Katha to the SaadhSangat.

Dhan Dhan Guru Gobhind Singh ji Maharaj, grabbed a rock in one hand
and asked the sangat, what colour is this? The sangat at the front
said, Maharaj ji it is white. He asked the sangat at the back and they
responded with the same answer.

He then asked his sevadar to go get a stool and a bucket of water. All
sangat were thinking about whats going to happen next.
The sevadaar succesfully fetched a bucket of water and placed it
beside Dhan Guru Gobhind Singh ji Maharaj.

Maharaj ji then turned to the bucket of water and released the rock
from his hand into the water.

He then asked the sangat to come forward and see what has happened to the rock.

He then questioned the sangat as to what happened to the rock?

The sangat replied that the rock had sunk to the bottom of the water.

Dhan Guru Gobhind Singh ji Maharaj then asked the sangat, why did the
rock sink to the bottom of the water?
Sangat replied, because its a rock and rocks usually sink to the
bottom of the water.

Maharaj ji asked again, why has the rock sank to the bottom of the
water? Sangat again replied, because its a rock, even if it were split
into pieces, it would still sink to the bottom.

Maharaj ji was not satisfied with the answer, and asked the same
question again.
Sangat were confused and had no other answer that the initial answer given.

Sat at the front of the sangat was Bhai Nand Lal ji. Bhai Nand Lal ji
throughout this event had kept his mouth sealed and not given a
response to GurPita jis question. He remained quiet.

GurPita ji then turned to Bhai Nand Lal ji and said, you did not give
us an answer so can you please stand up. By Hukam, Bhai Nand lal ji
stood up, hands folded, head down, but not saying a word.
Knowing this Gurpita ji said, Nand Lal ji, we have asked the sangat
this question three times, give us an answer as to why the rock sank
to the bottom of the water.

Bhai Nand Lal ji didnt respond as tears started welling up in his
eyes. But by Hukam he had to answer. Gurpita ji asked him what has
happened?

Bhai Nand Lal ji then said with humbleness and tears in his eyes, Oh
Guru ji, Oh my Beloved, the rock sank to the bottom of the water
because it got seperated from your hand! If were still attached to you
then the water would not let it sink nor any power in the world would
prevent it from swimming above the ocean.

By this the sangat realised what GurPita ji was trying to explain. We
have to attach ourself to the Lord, to the Satguru, only then rocks
like us can cross the ocean.

SATNAAM!
Please bless this fool and all shristi sangat to be attached eternally
to the your holy feet. Please do not let go of our poor dirt filled
hands. We commit millions of mistakes knowingly and unknowingly and
this poor soul is suffering. Our inner being is not bad GurPita ji, so
please keep us in your sanctuary and bless us all NAAM BANDAGI AND
SEVA with Upmost GAREEBI.

Kotton kot dandauth bandhna ji
Bul chuk maaf karna ji
