Satnaam
We all succumb to our bad habits all the time. We try to be good, but fall back into the five thieves and desires all the time. Then we feel bad for failing again at bhagti and desperately wonder how we will ever be with God.
The point to understand is that God is the only pure one and we always only sinners. And when we truly feel that from our heart we will do ardas to be saved, because our efforts have only been ego.
Waho Waho sachay ma teree tek,
hau papee tu nirmal Ek.
O wondrous, wondrous Truth, I seek your shelter. For I am a sinner and you are the only pure one.
His grace saves us not our efforts. He hears our ardases, and overlooks our faults and forgives us when we give up all our schemes and efforts thinking we could be pure enough.
We know all we are are constant sinners so we seek the dust if the sant's feet, we clean the sangat's shoes, we wash and wipe, we serve day and night, so that He may also clean us up. Because our faults our endless and we can't do enough in this life to wipe our lifetimes of sins.
Then we really become beggars seeking his mercy and stop trying to be masters looking for glory and thinking we can attain God by our efforts.
