Ego repels Truth

If you want to see how much ego you have, just look at yourself during the day and see how much Truth you did, that was God, and how much you avoided Truth and chose to do opposite, that was ego.

Baba ji said "ego repels truth".       When we are in ego we cannot tell.   We have thoughts and we just believe them because that is our habit to believe what we think is right and we act accordingly.    Last year when we were down,  we had all kind of thoughts to not do any more seva,  to not goto sangat,  that I needed to just focus on getting a job, that sangat and seva and simran just take up too much time, that could be better spent studying etc.      So mind is very convincing and we almost believed our mind many times.   But always we heard baba jis wisdom in or mind as well "ego repels Truth". So before believing those logical and convincing thoughts we applied baba jis wisdom to them and asked our self,  "are these thoughts taking me closer or further from baba ji?"    and the answer is further away.   Therefore they must be thoughts from ego.     Then we recognised ego is running us.     And we just kept praying to baba ji to keep us in charan sharan and they have been very kind but we do not appreciate their infinite kindness.   

"Ego repels truth" is such powerful wisdom.    But it only works if we truly believe deep down that baba ji dassan dass ji mata ji pritam anand ji sangat ji are the truth.        That they are the light in our dark mind.    If we have doubts, then ego will break us away, because it will say the truth is what it believes.

When we have doubts in God and guru and wonder if God is even here,  that is ego repelling truth.    But we feel down, we feel these are true thoughts we are having and we don't have the energy to stand up to them.  Then we sink further. Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam Satnaam.

So we must must must keep doing humble ardas, constantly, everytime those powerful negative thoughts come we must stand up, put hands together and like a poor beggar pray to satguru ji to keep us in his charan sharan.      We have to keep saying to our own ego "I AM NOT GOING TO BELIEVE YOU, I AM NOT GOING BACK INTO HELL - NO MATTER HOW CONVINCING YOU ARE."   then we must must must not miss amritvela and evening simran.    Then you will throw your ego down and defeat it.
