Satnaam satnaam satnaam.... Imagine you are poor, have lot of troubles, and some kind person says to you, here's a job and you'll get money and sort your problems out.
But then you just do one or two days and keep backing out and struggling. But the employer knows the job will solve all their problems, and keeps calling you, but you don't see how it's going to help as you haven't seen the paycheck yet.
Now is the employer bad for not giving up on you? Or should he just take pity and just give you a big donation to take all your problems away?
Dassan Dass ji could easily give us all spiritual gifts right away, but we would not have overcome any of our bad habits or ego. So they give us the job of simran, seva and Sangat to do. But we give up, stop after a little bit of effort and go back to complaining about our situation. So they keep telling us to earn Naam, seva and do bandagi for our benefit, not theirs. They already have an infinite Spiritual bank account full of Sat diamonds, we are the empty ones. But they have given us the job where we can be truly successful. And for that we are eternally grateful. If we were never given the chance of countless lifetimes we would never find a way out of out troubles. So let's do a good job and take earning Naam as seriously as we take doing our day job.
