Sabh teree vadaee satguru ji, koe nao na janay mera, pls take all praises of us from all sat sangat ji and place at your feet, and pls fulfil all their hopes and prayers ji.
Lowest is sweetest, there is only pride in being something, better to be nothing, a no one rather than someone.
The police raided bulleh shah's house, they asked the disciples , who are you, they replied with pride,'we are dsciples of bulleh shah', the police beat them.up. they asked bulleh shah, whi are you and he rellied, i am no one,nothing. They left him alone and went away.
After the police left,the disciples said why did we get beaten and not you. Bulleh shah ji said, because you became something....pride.
Same on this path, lets not get proud that we have naam and guru and we are special , and on the right path, and others are on the wrong path or lesser path. And dont think i have spiritual gifts that makea me special, Then we become something and that is pride.
Stay as lowest, garebee ves hirdha is best, if dhan baba nanak ji, god on earth, greatest musician and poet says...i am just a low caste singer, others claim.to be high......hau tadhee ka.neech jat, hor utam jaat sadaayday.....then let us stay low too.
Others have their destiny , we have ours, if they ask us for gian , we can share, or we can ask them to share their gian and then share ours. But if we just tell them do satnaam, its because we think we are doing right and they are doing less. It maybe true, but having that thought is pride. So always stay as learner, we can learn from.everyone, even a drunk, and if.they want to know we can share without pride and if its their destiny they will pursue.
Our only job is to beat our five thieves in all our daily interactions. So good deed is not telling others to do satnaam , its about did we stay as lowest? Good deed is not beating other people in arguments with our higher gian, its about did we keep ego and pride under our heels and stay as footwasher of other person.
Whenever we see are going into ego and pride, or any dhoot, we need to STOP right away, and either walk away if we vant control dhoots, or just pray formforgiveness and wash their feet, or say sorry tor.other person if we did something out of thives eg anger, ego etc
In our religious days we were proud of bana, of being sikh of tenth guru, of being bettrr than others are not wearing 5ks, of thinking we are better than other religions, even of other sikh groups. Every religion makes followrrs proud so they dont leave, and put down other groups , so we feel ee are best.
We did the same thing first few yrs in satnaam sangat. Got proud we are on right path, ee have real guru, we have real naam, we are right, others are wrong.....then thought came...first we were proud of waheguru waheguru and preaching sikh beliefs, now we are proud of satnaam satnaam and preaching dassan dass jis gian....
But problem is we are still the same donkey underneath, just changed our skin!
We said to dassan dass ji that first we were preacher in sikhism, now we just feel like preacher here, but still do not know god inside.
Dassan dass ji said, well if u know the problem fix it.
We really are the biggest , most stubborn proud donkey..whatever we do we think is right!
Same in our married life, we looked back saw we have had same attitude with wife and parents. Then we let it all go, live and let live , we just need to beat five thieves like baba ji told us from day one.
Even mind goes after spiritual experineces and that is ego wanting , haumai and trishna, both of which baba nanak ji says we must get rid of.
Notice whenever u feel down after doing simran, its because mind/ego is complaining nothing spiritual happened. Or other times u may feel really good and want to tell others what happened because we are proud that we have become something. So because our wife/parents think we are on the wrong path, we want spiritual experiences to prove to them we are right.....again all pride.
So its not about proving anything to others or converting others or preaching to others to justify we are right. Our path is about getting naam.and gian and earning it to beat our ego and pride and thieves. Preaxhing is easy, earning is hard.
