Riddle..mundavani meaning

Daily gurbani ------

English Translation:

Shalok, Third Mehl: Upon the plate, three things have been placed; this is the sublime, ambrosial food of the Lord. Eating this, the mind is satisfied, and the Door of Salvation is found. It is so difficult to obtain this food, O Saints; it is obtained only by contemplating the Guru. Why should we cast this riddle out of our minds? We should keep it ever enshrined in our hearts. The True Guru has posed this riddle. The Guru's Sikhs have found its solution. O Nanak, he alone understands this, whom the Lord inspires to understand. The Gurmukhs work hard, and find the Lord. ||1||

Dhan guru amar das ji is talking about the riddle to be solved.  Riddle is called mundavani.   Guru amar das ji what are these three things on the plate that are food for the sikhs? The guru has posed the riddle, the sikhs have worked hard to find the answer. Riddle /question is...what are these three foods in the plate?..what food? Whst plate?

And only those god inspires can find the answer.

In rahras sahib, and at the end of guru granth sahib ji, answer is given by guru arjun dev ji shabad mundavani (riddle) mahalla panjvaa....

thhaal vich thi(n)n vasathoo peeou sath sa(n)thokh veechaaro ||
a(n)mrith naam t(h)aakur kaa paeiou jis kaa sabhas adhhaaro ||
jae ko khaavai jae ko bhu(n)chai this kaa hoe oudhhaaro ||
eaeh vasath thajee neh jaaee nith nith rakh our dhhaaro ||
tham sa(n)saar charan lag thareeai sabh naanak breham pasaaro ||1||

Ambrosia, Fifth Mehla: 
Upon this Plate, three things have been placed: Truth, Contentment and Contemplation.
The Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of our Lord and Master, has been placed upon it as well; it is the Support of all.
One who eats it and enjoys it shall be saved.
This thing can never be forsaken; keep this always and forever in your mind.
The dark world-ocean is crossed over, by grasping the Feet of the Lord; O Nanak, it is all the extension of God. ||1||

We all want to know how to obtain god , that is the question (riddle).  Answer is to earn

1.Sat santokh...permanent satisfaction comes only from sat, all other things we get , we get tired of.
2. Vicharo...think about gurbani, gurmat and how much our life is out of sync, bring it into our life.

3. Amrit naam..bring it into our heart, it supports all.
