Everything we do is sangat. Sangat is just company, in sadh sangat we go towards the light, in bad sangat..ku-sangat we go towrds the the darkness.
So whatever we are keeping the company of is our sangat. Wether it is a book, a tv programme , video game, sports game, friends, family , gurdwara, music, songs, job, colleagues and so on.
And we need to keep asking ourself, is this sangat getting me closer to god, love,light, kindness, compassion, selflessness , caring, honesty and other good qualities.
Or is it bringing out sex, violence, kiling, greed, attachments, pride, jealousy, gossip, slander,late sleeping, drinking , swearing and so on.
Karmee apo apanee ke neray ke dhoor
...our deeds are our own responsibity, some go nearer to god , others further away.
Jini naam dhiaaya gae maskat gal, nanak te mukh ujalay ketee shutee naal
But above deeds is naam, the ones who did satnaam worked in the right direction , tgeir faces shine bright and many others go along with them.
So it is very important to keep assessing what kind of sangat we are getting all day long in our activities...sadh sangat or ku-sangat.
