Even though we read gurbani and the masses read the same gurbani, the fanatics also read sukhmani as we do, yet we walk away with different understanding. Why? Because many basic words have had their meanings changed. Like in english thr word gay used to mean happy. But now it means homosexual. So "he is gay" changes meaning completely.
So words in gurbani thst have been changed are
Guru...everyone thinks guru is the written word, or the past physical gurus. Actually there is only one guru and that is god as light manifested in a hirdha.
Waheguru..everyone thinks is gods name, but actually is praise of guru inside the hirdha.
Sant..everyone thinks is person dressed in white, unmarried, preacher. Wherase sant is actually the hirdha in which god resides. The fanatics go as far as saying sant means granth. So when they read sukhmani and see words like sant, satguru, bhramgiani they just think of guru granth sahib.
Khalsa means the one who has manifested light of god inside them, but to sikhs it means a person who wears 5ks.
Amritdhari..means holder of amrit i.e very high state of sant, but again common meaning is who has tskrn initiation ceremony.
Amrit..means god appearing as divine energy inside us. But to sikhs it just holy water..
Amrit ceremony...used to be called khanda kee pahul..initation of the sword, but now called amrit due to holy water.
Bhai..means brother of guru, sant , like bhai gurdas ji. But for sikhs its way of calling each other brother.
Gur bhai..in initiation ceremony sikhs are told they are now gur bhai..
Brothers under the guru (tribal grouping enforced) it means brother of the guru...brahmgiani
Gur dwara...peole think its a holy place, it means gurus door, which is door to your heart, real gur dwara is inside you.
Hari mandar...people called golden temple (british gave this name), before it was called harimandar..gods temple, sikhs still call it that, but gurbani says real hari mandir is your body/mind temple and go for a bath in the heart of love..mun mandir tan ves kalandar ghat hee tirath nava
Ditay sabh hee thav nahee tudh je haa..written under picture of golden temple, meaning seen all places nothing as beaitoful as you...actually it means seeing god ibside yourslef.
Khalsa panth..maharaj ranjit singh called his sikh army the khalsa, khalsa panth commonly means sikh religion, but actually means the inner path to become pure light..khalsa
Sat guru...gets translated as true guru, and then used to call sikh gurus as true, and other gurus as false. And even they call guru granth sahib as satguru (thats why sikhs cant tolerate baba ji or others in past and have even killed gurus like nirankari guru, maharaz darshan das ji and others). Sikhs cant tolerate people bowing to a sant especially in the presence of guru granth sahib ji.
Panj pyare...they say these represent the tenth guru, gurbani says you need one brahmgiani to give amrit ka data. Punj pyare representstives are not mukat themselves, but new recruits believe they are , and get nowhere spiritually.
...the list goes on....
Then when dassan dass ji told the original and divine meanings on satnaam.info, the sikh instead of accepting it, say we are the ones twisting gurbani, and how can thr maajority of sikhs be wrong and one baba ji be right?
Because these changes happend over the last two to three hundred years , most sikhs dont know anything else othrr than the traditions and common mewnings that have become ingrained nd called as sikh religion. Then it doesnt help the hundrwd years ago sikh committees firmed up these definitions in the sgpc rules..maryada etc.
But commitee is not btahmgiani is not authorised by god to preach, but thats what midern sikhism is ..committee made system, not god made.
