Baba ji said when some sikhs call others as bhai because they dont like to use the word sant for holy ones, they dont understand bhai means brother of the guru. So bhai gurdas ji had the same light in his heart and was gur bhai, brother of the guru, was guru himself.  Bhai is very high status of the soul, same as sant.  So only if we are the same as the sant hirdha can we call them as brother or sister, that is why dassan dass ji said to preeti ji, taranjeet ji is a sant hirdha, not just veer ji, brother, only brother in the light, vrother of the heart, if u are also sant hirdha. Also dassan dass ji said chandigarh sangat referred to sant hirdha arvinder ji as bhai sahib, again as they dont like to use word sant, but dassan dass ji told them he is a divine sant soul, not your brother because sangat is not yet sant hirdha themself.  So infront of sant we can only be kiram jant, lowly worm, a sevak, a fool, a vad papee guneghar, they are our mother, father, mata pita ji, but not  brother / sister until we also are same level of sant hirdha as them.
