Satnaam Preeto Ji,

Is there anything that baba ji has said with regards to martial arts?
A spiritual martial arts like QiGong, or TaiChi?

should we refrain from things like this?

SatNaam ji,

Baba ji said that the past religions are fading away because people now are expereincing God one-to-one without the need for religious organisations, priests and temples etc.  He said that Zen wasa good example of people expereincing nature for themself, that Reiki energy is same as what we call Amrit,   and that will also gor for  QiGong and TaiChi - you get to experience the divine energy for yourself - one-2one with SatNaam.  Even we find yoga stretches and breathing and simran combined work for us to expereince Naam amrit all over our body.

If you look at the history of martial arts liek Kung Fu, we think it was started by shaolin Monks who were peaceful but then had to learn to defend themself, so they were already in tune with nature - the divine energy - Naam Amrit, so from that developed the forms and movements and redirectnig of that divine energy.    Howerver, what you see in most martial arts classes and yoga classes nowdays is just  a set of classes for people to focus just on their physical body - exercising it and learning to defend/attack.  They have lost the divine essence that it came from - the Naam is missing.

However Baba ji also gave an example once that a person in lower consciousness may start doing martial arts for reasons to do with the body - being fit, being tough, being able to beat others or to defend themself.  And in the beginning as they gain the skills they get ego of it, show off etc.  But, if they stick to it long enough they become a real expert, but then they will not use their skills unless it is completelyy the last resort. They have matured, they have reconnected with the Truth within through the years of discipline, and even teaching others is compassion to others.   Baba ji gave the same example of Bill Gates or other super - rich people, they started their business to make money, to dominate, to be in control, to be powerful (again lower consciousness).  But in having done that and seen that it is not satisfying as they thought it would be, they have become great givers - started massive charities and spend their time doing compassion for others.

So it doesn't matter where we start (music, martial arts, yoga, religion, charity work, family life, work etc)  as long as we stick to it honestly, do good deeds, keep sharing with others, do our simran then Guru's Grace will bless us to meet our Sant-Guru and we transcend Maya (lower consciousness) and merge with our Source, the Truth- SatNaam SatGuru Ji's Lotus Feet.

God Bless all.
