Inner Wrestling -fighting with your thieves or spirits or ego

QN

Satnaam Preeto Ji,

Is it a common experience during Simran, or after (maybe during sleep) to have grappling/wrestling experience with something as though something is trying to grab hold of you and you're fighting it off?

Satnaam ji,

dont know if its common, but it happens.  Once we were happy to see Dassan Dass ji and did dandauth, next thing we knew he was sitting on our chest beating us up, and we looked up to see his face chaning into a dhoot - then realised,  did our satnaam, and the real Dassan Dass ji came with the sangat and sent us all into a lake of amrit to get rejuvinated.

Another time we were fighting with our own ego, dressed like a yogi in orange robes, we had to fight with it and slam it down.

In gurbani , guru arjun dev ji ahs a shabad that says somethnig like  "I am wearing a tall turban (like wrestlers of old did) and enter the ring, there are five of them (the thieves) but only one of me ..."

You have to beat all of your own dhoots etc

Sometimes other people feel ghosts/spirits trying to overpower them, once our dad was in Kenya at someone's house and he felt a spirit was pushing down on him stopping him breathing - our mum woke him up when he as like that.   So spirits can try and possess weak minded souls too.

One cure for beating dhoots or spirits or ultimately your own ego - SATNAAM and EXTREME HUMILITY AT YOUR GURU'S FEET.

God bless you.
