English Explanation of "Jap" -

Satnaam

Inner Wrestling -fighting with your thieves or spirits or ego

QN

Satnaam Preeto Ji,

Is it a common experience during Simran, or after (maybe during sleep) to have grappling/wrestling experience with something as though something is trying to grab hold of you and you're fighting it off?

REPLY:

Satnaam ji,

dont know if its common, but it happens.  Once we were happy to see Dassan Dass ji and did dandauth, next thing we knew he was sitting on our chest beating us up, and we looked up to see his face chaning into a dhoot - then realised,  did our satnaam, and the real Dassan Dass ji came with the sangat and sent us all into a lake of amrit to get rejuvinated.

Another time we were fighting with our own ego, dressed like a yogi in orange robes, we had to fight with it and slam it down.

In gurbani , guru arjun dev ji ahs a shabad that says somethnig like  "I am wearing a tall turban (like wrestlers of old did) and enter the ring, there are five of them (the thieves) but only one of me ..."

You have to beat all of your own dhoots etc

Sometimes other people feel ghosts/spirits trying to overpower them, once our dad was in Kenya at someone's house and he felt a spirit was pushing down on him stopping him breathing - our mum woke him up when he as like that.   So spirits can try and possess weak minded souls too.

One cure for beating dhoots or spirits or ultimately your own ego - SATNAAM and EXTREME HUMILITY AT YOUR GURU'S FEET.

God bless you.

The poison on their dart

satnaam satnaam
satnaam satnaam
satnaam satnaam

I only served the Truth
on the dish of humility,
I only shared what You
revealed inside of me.

I only hoped the Truth
would set them free,
for they are like
what I used to be.

But, they spoke cruel words
and rattled their swords
they slandered my Guru
and called me confused.

I forgave them right away
for its You in every heart,
but still I felt the pain
from the poison on their dart.

Without Your Blessings
no one can understand,
Please bless them all
for all is in Your hand.

Do I need to cover my head when doing Naam Simran?

QUESTION

Dear Dassan Das Ji,
Dear Preeto ji,
Dandaut Bandana Ji,

As earlier also I have mentioned in my Email to you that I have my hair cut & trimmed beards. I do not use head Gear means Pagri (Tastaar) . I have been blessed with Naam from Baba Virsa Singh Ji Maharaj and reciting his holy Naam as "Ik Onkar Satnaam Shri Waheguru"
Q1: My first Qs is that : During the Naam Simran is it necessary to cover the head?

Q2: Since Baba Virsa Singh Ji is no more now and there is no successor for Baba ji.My next Qs is that is it necessary to have an alive Guru or My Guru will be Baba Virsa Singh Ji Maharaj foreever & every where.

Q3: Sometimes I do the Naam Simran in my office with shoes on and again without covering my head. Samething I do while driving in my car.Is it Ok?
Dust of your feet,

SatNaam Veer ji,

Danduth bandhna ji,

1) &3)  we also have cut hair and do not cover our hair, we do simran whenever we can - so that includes in the car with shoes on, walking around, naked in the shower, sitting on the toilet, and during every activity - eating, reproducing, working (when we dont have to concentrate on work).  Sitting with hair covered and shoes off is just tradition, its nice to be able to sit in a comfortable place for simran, so do what is comfortable for you.  Satguru' Jyot is in your heart all day and night, when you do simran you meditate on Satguru ji's feet in your heart, so dont worry about the outside situation.

2) Baba Ji in Canada told us that until we become Sant Hirdha ourself we need another Sant Hirdha to help us, so if our Sant Guru leaves their body, and we didn't finish our journey then pray for meeting another Sant Guru who can guide us physically.  But also remember every Sant who has blessed you is always with you in spiritual form too.  So it is all the Formless SatNaam taking the form of the Sant Hirdha to guide you physically and spiritually.   So that s what has happened to you, Baba Virsa Singh ji blessed you whilst alive, but you still need some guidance and your prayers and Baba Virsa singh ji's blessings have brought you to Dassan Dass ji.

Dandauth bandhna ji

Circumcision

SatNaam Ji, dandauth Bandhna ji

on this spiritual path with th teaching of Baba Nanak ji and Baba Ji and Dassan Dass Ji, it seems so obvious that nothing external is going to please God, yet 2 major religions (Jews and Muslims) and to my surprise also a majority of Americans   Circumcise their sons.  It seems like a very cruel thing to do to a little baby who has no choice in the matter.   As with alot of religious practises, there may have been good reason for doing it thousands of years ago when there was a lack of understanding about cleanliness through daily washing, and infections of this part of the body.  But, then it got made part and parcel of the religious beliefs, "if you dont do it God will punish you", which is why in the 21st century religions are still keeping alive beliefs and traditions that the rest of the world has left way behind.   God bless all.

Are you feeling drained by the family?

SATNAAM

Are you feeling drained by the family?

Detach from the family
reattach to SatNaam.

Detach by sitting for simran and burning all your family and attachments in the fire
whilst attaching to "satnaam satnaam".

Detach by giving up thinking that you can control the situation, when you have seen that you cant.
Reattach to Satnaam SatGuru's Lotus feet by praying for the family "God bless them for the highest divine good."

Detach from MOH (selfish attachment)
reattach to SATNAAM (your own inner Light)
and rather than being drained by the family
you will overflow with Amrit and bless the family.
