SaTnaam SatGuru SatSangat Jee, dandauth bandhana ji
ego and desire (haumai and trishna) flare up time to time, again and again. When they take over we become completely absorbed in it, thinking we are right to fulfill our desire, forgetting we are the Light. Each of us has to learn to tell the difference inside us of when we are living in peace and humbleness of heart, or when ego and desire have flared up and the thoughts that come with them. For each of us the way ego and desires will take over is different.
Recognising when we are under the influence of ego and desires is a great blessing of Satguru ji upon us.
And then resolving NOT to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that ego and desires are filling our head with is our test.
How do we overcome it? Not by fighting, but by deep down praying to Satguru ji "keep us how you want, make us do what You want, I dont need anything, I dont want anything except to serve and live for others." Then do Satnaam in your heart, pray "Satguru ji you are our role model Baba ji, make us like you, just in love with Naam and Seva, we dont need anything else. Just keep your holy feet in our heart." And say "satNaam satnaam."
Each of us has to realise when we are in ego and desires, and then to overcome them with a simple humble ardas and prayer for forgiveness.
Please forgive us for all our mistakes, we are the biggest egotist, full of unfulfilled desires and five thieves, seeking comforts, full of complaints, saying one thing doing another, but whatever we are please keep us under your feet SatGuru Baba ji.
