Dearest Sat Sangat Ji,
Please accept our head at your feet in service.
We hope that the sangat will use the questions at the end to do some soul searching.
On the inner path it is very easy to forget that we are supposed to be battling with maya and five thieves and very easy to let ego
say "its no big deal" and let those vices stay inside us without dealing with them. Even coming into sangat or in sending emails (myself included)
it is so easy to talk about the things we have done , are doing and are going to do, it is so easy to talk about other people and how they have effected us.
But it is very difficult to actually spit out the reality of what is holding us back to becoming one with the Truth. But until we do this we
are living superficially, like skimming over the ocean of the mind rather than dving deep. Also until we do this internal inquiry and be
brutally honest with ourself as to what we are, we wont even get any peace by going to Sangat, because we are not releasing the grip of ego.
Even by going into sangat and just sharing our spiritual experiences of the meditation can become the tool of ego to gain some acknowledgement/praise from our peers,
to also avoid talking about the real issues that are holding us back from God. Baba ji has asked us to share experiences to insipre others, but at the same time
we have to avoid getting ego of sharing them, but also avoid making that the primary goal of our meditation/bhagti. Dassan Dass ji said to us that all these expereinces are given to us to encourage us. But if we start desiring them and using them to assess how far we are in bhagti, then they become a roadblock. It becomes a desire and it becomes a way of deflecting us from looking at are real inner state.
Here are some tools to go deeper in the form of questions. They are from the blessed soul Tanraj Singh ji who gave them to us to start our inner inquiry.
you may like to answer them and send the answers to the forum - it will also serve as a confession and a release from ego, it will help.
FROM TANRAJ JI:
"1) Ask yourself to confess our deeds done under the influence of the 5 thieves and desires,
2) Ask yourself why are you here (on this forum, or coming to sangat - whatever sangat you go to)?
3) Ask yourself "what do I seek to find?"
4) Ask yourself "how do I fail myself?"
5) Ask yourself, "how do I fail God?"
6) Ask yourself, "how do I intend to resurrect his Name?"
Ask yourself, ask yourself, ask yourself these questions.
them. As I said they can only be taken to the shore, but the tests sent by God are theirs alone to attempt."
Dust of your feet
Harjit
