Sat Naam Sat Guru Sat Sangat Ji,
Plese accept our Dandauth Bandhana at your holy feet.
There is a beautiful story that really inpsired us years ago when our mother told us it.
The Hindus saint Tulsi Das , the writer of the Ramayan, was a thirsty soul. One day he
was taking a bag of money to the bank. Along the way he saw the head man of the village up in a tree.
He looked stressed. Tulsi Das ji asked, "Are you OK?" He replied, "I am in a dilema about wether to jump or not."
Tulsi Das asked him why he was thinking of jumping to which the head man replied, "Well I went to see
the holy man and asked him to bless me with the vison of our beloved Ram(God-Guru). He told me all I had to
do was climb this tree, pray to Ram to catch me and jump off with full faith. But now I can't do it."
Tulsi Das replied, "Well sir, if you don't want to jump I will do an exchange with you. I will give you this
bag of gold coins and you give me the blessing."
At that the headman breathed a huge sigh of relief and quickly climbed down before Tulsi Das changed his mind.
Tulsi Das climbed the tree, did his prayer and jumped for the love of his beloved Ram. And the spirit of Ram caught him
in arms of love.
Wether this story is 100% true or not, it does show the on the spiritual path we have to take a LEAP OF FAITH.
There comes a point when we have to really go for it, to get up early , to do our amritvela, to give up hopes and wishes for maya ,
to pray with love "Dear Satguru Ji, may we really go for it, may we sacrifice mind , body and wealth for your love."
As Baba ji says, "May we jump into the Ocean of YOU and wether we drown or are ferried across is upto YOU, but we
are jumping into the Ocean of YOU."
There is another story we read whilst waiting at a train station in India. A man came to see a saint and asked for the vision of God.
The saint took him to the horse trough whcih was full of water and pushed the man's head under the water. The man started
struggling and the saint let him up asking him, "How did you feel?" And the man replied, "I felt i was going to die without a gulp of air."
The saint replied, "when you feel like that about God, it wont be long before God comes to you."
There are times with guru ji's kirpa that we have JUMPED and felt like we are going to die without God and at those times our bhagti has gone right to God.
So these stories of the saints are 100% true. Trouble is that a foolish and stubborn head like me gets back into his comfort zone and doesn't want to die.
Please forgive us, bless us with single-mindedness Satguru ji.
Dust of your feet
Harjit
