Sat Naam ji - dandauth bandhna ji
there are many realms of existance.
Our soul separeted from God, like drops from the ocean. Our soul is actually god himself searching for Himself again - this is the Game God has made for himself. As the Ocean He is the PARAM ATMA , theHighest Truth consciousness. The One that exists all around , in us and around us - that is why it is called Truth. It can only be expereinced, but we give it a Name - SAT NAAM so we can focus upon that Truthful One. also that is called Divine Light - God's Light. Our soul is a drop of light.
Due to our actions we accumulate Karma. all our deeds - good or bad cling to our soul, and pass with us from one lifetime to another. That is our Karmic record, or our karmic filth. Due to our Karma we are judged by Dharam Raj - Divine Judge when we die and are brought painfully to him by deaths couriers - Jam Dhoots. Our Karma decides the body and lifetime we go into next. That can be any of the 8.4 million lifeforms according to Gurbani. Good actions take us into further human lives. As human we can do good actions and be blessed one day with GurParsaad, when God Himself helps us to come back to Him. We gain the GurParsaad only after doing an incredible amount of good deeds and reducing our bad deeds to the minimum. The GurParsaad comes to us via god in the heart of His Sant. The Sant for us ignites our dormant Jyot - the light within us that we have not been able to recognise. Then we cherish that Light by doing simran and seva. That Light become fully blown - pargatio jyot whilst we are live. That is called the death of the ego, and being dead while alive. So when the body finally dies, our soul just merges into the divine Light.
For everyone else who has not merged into the Light whilst alive, they go to wherever they have reached. So if you are a terroist and blow up a plane killing people and yourself, then you have created hell here so hell waits for you afterwards ..thisis what Baba Ji told us. If you die whilst still having unfullfilled desires, then those desires get you born again - Gurbani says , dying whilst thinking of sex you come as a prsotitute, dying whilst thinking of your house you come back as a ghost to haunt that house and so on. Basic thing to remember is that whilst we still have unfullfilled desires and still have attachments to people and places, we keep our soul hanging around the Earth.
God's realm is called Sach Khand - realm of Truth consciousness. This is the same as Nanak consciousness, Christ consciousness Mohammed consciousness - it is the state of the soul reacheed by the Brahm Gianis. This realm of God sees god as the King and in His divine court - dargah or baykunt, sit the souls of his Brahm gianis/Sants/SatGurus.
Below this level are the heavens of Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu. Below them is the heaven of dev-lok - full of 330 Million gods-godesses , the devi-devtas. They represent the forces for good in the world. However, they themselves were devoted souls who did alot of bhagti but their consciousness only reached so high because they didnt defeat their ego. Neither did Brahma Vishnu or Shiva.
Hell realms are full of ghosts , demons and creatures like that. A ghost /bhoot is soul that has lost its body and is strnaded around the Earth due to its attachments. Some ghosts try to be good like grandparents that hang around to help their family. Finally they leave the ghost lifetime when thre attachments finish. They go and get reborn again. but some ghosts become very bad. they want to possess the living. They want a body agani so they fulfill their unwanted desires. These ghosts are called demons /preths. They are seen as wearing black robes and seem dark. Wereas the Brhamgianis will appear to us in white. All the Baba's appear in white as the represent Divinity. Because god is Formless - Nirankaar, we cannot understand Him. so he takes the form of our Sant to come to us in our inner vision to bless us. so Christains may have Darshan of Jesus, Muslims of Mohammed, Radhasoamis of their Guru, Sikhs of their gurus. And even in this sangat we have darshan of baba ji and dassan dass ji. but Baba ji explained to us , that is actually God coming to us in the form of our Sant to bless us.
There are more after-death realms and more lifecycles in their, but this is as much as we understand so far. Some souls go to the Light, but then want to become Spirit guides. They are not exactly ghosts, but ave the blessing of god to hang around people to help them and guide them to divinity for a certain period of time after which even they want to be born as human again. All the devi-devtas want to be born as human again too so they can finish off their bhagti. so that is one reason why this gift of human life is so precious, because only in this life can we merge with the Light and go beyond hell, heavens, reincarnation and sit in god's court - Darga - Baykunt always and forever.
Also even the Sant souls in Dargah have no karma left and have no reason t be born again due to karma. But those souls also are ready to be born again as a seva in the world. Like Guru Nanak Dev ji came to guide humanity, rather than as punishment due to any karma. So Sants are being born all the time for the sole purpose of Parupkaar - serving others, and Maha-parupkaar - for blessing others with gurParsaad so they can go to the Light too.
This is all beyond us, all we know is that we ned to do good deeds, to look after this body mind and soul and to raise our consciousness to the highest level before we physically die.
The journey of our soul can be seen as one big learning curve. We start in lowest animal consciousness, as we learn from our mistakes we progress through many lifetimes, we go to good consciousness, which is then a spring board to god conciousness.
So all pains and sufferings and problems we have in life are seen as a gift from God - because they give us a chance to work through our feelings and karma , to hopefully come out if it older and wiser, kinder and more compassionate, more lovig and truthfull.
dust of your feet
Harjit
