the primal reason why people slander or attack is because deep down they are fearful.
The reason why they then go and make tribes, religions and political parties and nationalities is because they want to be strong together, to protect those with similar views, to destroy or stop ones they fear will take those things they cherish away.
The root cause is fear, compounded by their experiences in life.
And also the reason why it aggravates you when someone verbally attacks Baba Ji, is also because of fear and insecurity.
Love is the antidote to fear, become such a loving heart, that you can absorb their pain. That you can see through the illusion of strength they put up - like a barking dog they slander, but they bark because they are scared.
They fear they will lose what they have if what Baba Ji teaches is true. They would have to shake their whole life upside down - and ego doesnt want that. So its easier for them to attack and to justify it with all kinds of nonsense.
Here read this article, its about pyschological reason for political viiews - same reasons apply to religious views.

i do not understand this. baba ji has love for entire creation, yet you get these sikhs of today slandering him? and same goes for dassan das ji. why? is it because he wants to show them the truth and help them?
i seriously cant take it, if someone calls my guru a fake. my blood boils but have to control and forgive them. I've learnt not to slander anyone, i dont know who is who, normal person on the street could be a God-conscious being and i certainly dont want to slander a saint.
i dont think my guru as highest of all. I see all gurus as 1 and same. why are there many people, think their guru is highest ?
i hate the word "cult" used for satnaam sangat, seriously. what have we done to others? guru ji tells us to think and do good for everyone, yet all we get from these people is slander and hate?
i dont care about myself, if someone slanders me, i am a paapi neways so i deserve it. but i cant take any word going against my guru, who can never think even little bit bad of everyone. one who loves his hater.
I ask GOD, o GOD, why doesnt everyone see the light in baba jis and dassan das ji eyes???
10 gurus spread the truth and love, what did they go through? tortures and pains.
