Do other religions have Naam?

Sat Shri Akal ji,

                      Another question that often struck in mymind is about religions other than sikh religions,do they also have naamto get through this vicious circle of money or to get salvation.Did they also practise naam .

with guru ji's kirpa , to answer your question just look at Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji - it contains the GurBani from the ones who started off their bhagti in Sufism - Sheik Farid Ji, Hinduism - Bhagat Ramanand Ji and many others too.  Look at Jesus and Mohammed too - they all had the Naam.

 

Truth, Love and compassions is not limited ot one religion or one group of chosen people.  A thankful, compassionate person ends up with a loving heart, and in a loving heart Truth (Naam) can reside.  So its all about which heart has become pure enough for God, not which religion the person is from.  Plus Baba ji said that the true Sants end up going beyond their religion, they first defeat maya then they also defeat pride of their religion.  That is why in sukhmani sahib , guru ji says that Naam is the highest religion.

After years of wandering in the spiritual wilderness - maya, the first time we met Baba ji we were so happy to find his Lotus feet and kissed them and said "Baba ji it is so hard to find the Sants."  to which Baba Ji replied, "They are everywhere, its just our ego that makes us blind."

What we have to understand is that we will get the Naam from wherever we are predestined i.e. written by God, to get it from.  So a sikh child may end up with a muslim guru, a christian may end up as white american sikh - Baba ji said its all OK because its all per destiny, and we should be happy for someone when they finally meet their Guru and get the Naam - bhaag hoa gur sant milaayaa.  Wereas in religion , people feel very hurt if someone converts away, and very happy when someone converts into their religion.
