Satnaam
Baba nanak ji says that the beautiful face is of that one one who does satnaam.
Otherwise if we are just looking at physical features as the whole world does, then it's all a trap for the mind. Because maya takes very beautiful form of supermodels to come and tempt us in dreams /visions.. So it will be our test.
She tested us like that many times!
It was our unfulfilled desire to be liked/loved by a pretty woman! So was our test.
And she would come as a super model, and give us attention, and VIP treatment... Once she personally escorted us around this colourful fairground, showing us all the rides she has created, we liked the attention she was giving us (pretty woman).
Other times when we felt down and depressed and we're not doing simran either, she would come and put our head in her laps.... But everytime we would realise and tell her, "maya you are not my lover nor my mother I don't want any comfort from you, only satnaam satguru."
Other times she would come looking like a black witch with twisted face.
Once we saw we are in a dark house, and pictures of the dark twisted witch are in big frames everywhere. Then we are outside the house and young women in UK sangat were all following her into the house upstairs and downstairs forever trapped like they were in a trance all walking around the house, we shouted their names with all our might again and again to leave her and come out, but they just looked at us with blankness and carried on being a slave train behind her.
We realised doesn't matter how much we want others to be saved from maya, but if they don't want to, we can't do much for them except pray one day they give up desire.
At that time that sangat was full of young people into party lifestyle, but also dukhi because if their family and boyfriends and did little simran but liked amrit from sangat every Friday, but spent most of it socialising rather than doing long hrs of simran. Dassan dass ji saw their nightclub pictures on face book and asked us "what is this.. Party Sangat?"
Even having Naam, guru and sangat, They did little simran, little seva, never said no to maya lifestyle and we're crying on the inside... They didn't leave everything for love of their satguru, instead the left satguru for the love of their friends and family.
Best we all learn from others mistakes, if we don't leave maya lifestyle, then we will lose the blessings we have right now. If we don't do daswandh everyday with full determination then we can never beat maya when she comes to test us in waking life or dream /visions either.
First you have to beat your five thieves and then maya by giving up all deep down desires.
You have to do that in your waking life, and you have to do it in your dreams too.
So until we become one track mind only focused on daswandh everyday no matter what, we won't beat maya.
And will remain crying.
Maya makes everyone cry.
After Maya makes everyone dance to her tune.
Maya fools everyone by promising to give them what they want, but in the end she only gives them tears.
She is a lying witch on the inside but she fools everyone by looking like a kind mother or supermodel, or she offers you money and success, because that is what you want deep down. And when you say yes to her you are her slave.
Most people, except the sant, are her slave.
So when people are talking to you, it's actually maya inside them tallking and testing you. The real person, the light called satnaam, is very dim in them.
So why do we want their money or their attention or them to like us or to love us... It's only maya and she's going to make you cry when you see her true colours and the other person makes your life hell.
Better to just trust satnaam, and know that as per my destiny(bhaag) , money will come, success will come, wife will come, kids will come.. At the right time with the right person, all without me chasing and crying for not having it.
Chasing anything or crying for not getting it or losses is all sign maya is running us.
Satnaam satnaam satnaam keeps us stable, flower never chases the bees. Flowers job is to be beautiful in the sunshine and give fragrance to all.
So become like a satnaam flower on the inside, and everything will happen at the right time without burning you.
First you have to learn where all your thoughts are coming from.
And then only follow the good and true thoughts.
And true thoughts are not selfish, true thoughts will do good for everyone, maya thoughts will be just good for you or your family, at expense of others.
Eg you steal... Good for you, but loss for other.
True thoughts are from the heart and will match what gurbani says and what baba ji says.
All other thoughts are from destructive mind (shiva) or desire mind(brahma)... Five thieves are behind them.
Those two parts are bad, but Third part of the mind is neutral/good part (vishnu).. So do good deeds, help others, give in charity etc. But still under maya. But by doing good deeds from good part off mind and not listening to bad part of mind, we finally get gods grace, then divine thoughts come from the hirdha... Beyond mind, beyond maya.
Then doing simran heart expands and mind collapses, satnaam takes over.
Then there is no more karma, because mind/ego is not doing the deeds, satnaam is doing it all as satnaam is the mind...of the sant... E mun tu jot Saroop Ha apanaa mool pechaan.
Satnaam seems like it's just a simple word, another mantra, a nice word to sing or chant. Satnaam is actually God himself. Sat he sat ha.... The word Sat is itself Sat.. Like spark is the fire. Like the drop is the ocean. And baba ji added maya he maya ha... The word maya is itself maya, all other words are part of maya. Sat is the light, even Naam part is part of the shadow (maya) under the lamp.
So that's why it comes back to as maya part drops off, and all that is left is just God himself.. Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat Sat
Reciting Sat Sat Sat may not seem like much, but just like a slow dripping tap can fill the bathtub, everytime we do Sat Sat Sat we are being cleaned and transformed inside. You notice it not day by day, but look back over a month or a year... Have you changed?
Sat Sat Sat is the primal seed, like just the mighty oak Tree grows from a tiny acorn, all of gurbani guru has come from Sat Sat Sat. Baba ji said, just 15 minutes in samadhi is equivalent to 48hrs of doing an akhand paat.
Gurbani guru is like the mighty oak, each beautiful Shabad is a leaf. Each raag section that gurbani us arranged in is like a strong branch. And jap ji sahib is the trunk, and mool manter is the roots and SAT is the source, the seed.
That's what SAT is called the BEEJ manter.. Beej manter sarab ko gian... All divine wisdom is inside the Beej manter.
And satguru is the fruit inside whom the seed is contained.
Satguru plants the seed deep into our field (astral body... Underneath physical body and mental/emotional body), we have to weed out the five thieves, and water the seed by doing daswandh. Then the seed will grow inside us, then flowers and fruit of spiritual experiences come inside us. When we become the fruit then we plant the seed in others and the game carries on.
