Giving is everything

Seva thoree mangan bohtha... Does little seva yet wants alot..... People want God or Love or peace of mind or spiritual experiences or something or the other,  everybody wants,  wants,  wants,  then cry or complain or blame when they don't get it.  Satguru and satnaam are constantly giving,  giving, giving,  whether it is highest blessing of Naam,  constant gian,  on kakao or in physical sangat,  they keep giving,  yet we keep taking and still complaining and crying for more,  and then we get tired of their gian and the sangat and doing simran (the little bit we did),  we need  to learn to become givers,  dassan dass ji wrote on the website that may everyone be blessed with a giving, giving, giving attitude to all.   Bhagti is all about giving,  it's not about getting anything at all,  it's all about doing seva,  it's not about about getting spiritual  or material rewards.. They are merely side effects,  not the target. The target is to give everything,  mind,  body,  wealth,  time,  money,  effort,  all to the satguru. 

Mother Theresa said,  give until it hurts,  Sikh guru's gave their heads,  baba ji said,  that was their love for others,  they suffered so others wouldn't have to.  When we do seva,  cleaning shoes,  cooking,  cleaning,  bringing up kids,  even our job,  or taking care of people who don't care about us,  or losing sleep to do simran,  or exercise,  it's all involves some level of discomfort for us(ego suffers),  so we don't do it,  we just do the things that give us comfort,  ego wins chasing sukh,  but in the end will only be dukh.   If we don't feel love,  don't complain, ask yourself how much live do you give to others,  how much have you suffered in order to make others lives better... It's easy to go to sangat and enjoy the food and gian and singing,  and go home again,  but how much did you put in... Eg Did you buy the food,  prepare it,  cook it and serve it with love and clean up?  Or ask the same thing in all aspects of life.. How much do you help at home,  or at work or at your religious place,  it's easy to take,  very hard to give,  satguru wants us to ultimately give our head,  that is the price of Naam,  everyone who had Naam,  has no head of their own,  dassan dass ji already said our head belongs to him.   There is no choice left about what we will do or won't do,  once we took naam we should have given our head,  there is no going back,  if we go back then there is only our previous hell waiting for us.  Satguru doesn't need to keep telling us to do daswandh again and again if we gave our head,  they say it we say,  yes sir.  Any delay shows us the size of our ego.

So if you don't feel any love,  give love,  suffer a bit and do seva to make other people's lives better at the cost if your own comforts.
