me: when we were in bana and goign to gurdwara daily, gurmukh ji at that time told us to just eat langar twice a day and not to eat from outside, we were also strict vegetarian and living alone.

me: Also at the time we wore bana we also did not do excercise, as our gurmukh ji told us to sit for long hrs - 2 hrs in the morning and 2 hrs at night in the gurdwara sangat.

me: We also used to sit with our head tilted forward as gurmukh ji also told us that shows we are humble infront of guru granth sahib ji. But sitting like that for long hours gave us extreme neck pain and a weak neck for many years.

me: Meaning, that our body can only make a strong immune system if we provide it with allthe vitamins, minerals and food groups it needs and in the right quantities.

me: For example, a women with weak bones went to the doctor. The doctor found she was lacking in cacium and her body itself was dissolving the bones to get calcium. Why?

So the body / god, decided it is more important to keep the person alive than to have strong bones.

me: So even though the women thought she has bad karma and unhealthy body, actually the body was trying its best to keep her alive, but was lacking the calcium it needed due to her not providing it.

me: Diet is very simple - excess sugar (ver bad for immune system and skin), excess fat and excess salt.

me: We do need some sugar, salt and fat, but normally is enough in the food we eat so dont need to add extra.
taranjeet: means no use of salt in sabzi
11:29 me: On the positive side, we need , nuts , seeds , grains like dhaal, plenty of water, some milk , cheese and yoghurt. Maybe lean meat like chicken and fish twice a weak.
Use some salt in making sabzi, but dont add extra salt afterwards.

me: Also you can replace sweet tea with green tea/chinese tea/red bush / herbal teas.

me: They have alot of anti-oxidants - these are essentail to keep immune system strong. Lots of anti-oxidants are in fresh fruit and veg and in fresh juice too.

11:33 me: Green tea = chines tea = you can look up on internet. We tend to drink black tea which is not so good as it has high caffeine = stimulant.

11:34 me: Green tea/chinese tea after eating a meal washes away the fat as well - baba ji told us that. But doesnt matter when you drink it, replace black tea with any kind of herbal tea . Once again black tea is ok once in a while as well, so dont get stuck by all these tips as hard and fast rules.

me: Never eat just before exercising as your body send the blood to your digestive systems, so there is less blood for your muscles to use.

me: Best is to eat about 1 to 2 hrs before hand.
11:41 Walking is good ji, fast, brisk walk for at least 30 minutes 5 times a week is a very good start. Look at baba nanak ji , he waled 82000miles ji. Thats about 5 miles a day ji.

11:43 me: If you are walking in heat, then take a water bottle with you. Especially if it is hot weather, so maybe early morning is best time. Yes and its easy to do naam as you walk. But make sure you dont walk slow, keep walking fast, so you heart beats faster and you feel sweaty by the end of it.

me: Walking will be your cadio-vascualr excercise ji and will build your stamina. It will give you a healthy heart for the rest of your life and you will avoid heart problems in your 50s.

11:45 me: Also you can build up to 30 minutes , 5 times a week. dont try to do it right away as you ar enot used to it.

11:46 me: You also need to do some strching of the muslces - we do yoga for that. good to do about 20 minutes a day after waking up. When we sleep our muscles shrink by 10%. That is why in the morning we feel like stretching our amrs and yawning.

11:47 me: Yoga in the morning is nice good way to stretch the muscles, get the blood flowing and is easy to do ji. It really boosts the immune system as well.

11:52 me: Mucles need to be strong to support your joints. We had kneee problems for 20 years, since making the leg muscles strong we have no more problems ji, back and neck problems have gone too. Its to do with building up strnegth in the muscles. We do weight training for that 2 or 3 times a week.
11:53 Especially in our jobs we are sitting all day, our muscles become very weak.
The rule of muscles is "use them or lose them".

me: When we use our muscles they get stronger, when we sit idle they wither away, until one day our back or neck or knee suddenly starts hurting.

Our body is designed, to run, jump, move and to be active. We are very far from nature nowadays, so we have to make time and extra effort to make up for the lack of use.
